I ended up having a dicussion with people in the Planetside 2 TS channel, and was wondering if anyone would be interested in playing/starting to play Ragnarok Online as a side game within Xen. As a brief overview, the game is quite old at this point but features great mechanics/huge world to explore/and a class system that makes it rewarding to party. While offical rates 1/1/1 (Base Exp/Job Exp/Item Drop) are rather low for most of us in our early/late 20s, I was thinking of playing on a mid rate private server between 10(minimal) and 100(max). The job tree has a class for almost every playstyle, and some very unquie to RO itself such as the ability to strip weapons/armours off other players. The game has tons of features for on-going play beyond level cap such as MVPs, Card Hunting, and WoE. WoE is the guild vs guild part of the game where guilds fight for castles which generate loot, have private dungeons, and drop items that build into God Items. Mind you, private servers aren't generally as crazy as these fights but still feature great fights of guilds around the size of 20 or so. If we had a handful of playings active 5/6 we could look to join an alliance and try and hold a castle. Why RO? Because right now I know that I am not really looking to get into a game seriously and RO is a great game to relax and play during free time. It has awesome music, enough stuff to keep you busy, and is just a fun game to play with friends/or make friends. I will be away this weekend but if anyone is interested throw a message in this thread, we will most likely(if there is more than me) be deciding on a server next week sometime.
I'm currently playing very sparing on http://www.rebirthro.com/ Loki server(base level 255 job level 120(i think), they offer A LOT of custom items, just about every quest, balancing to the donation system(somewhat, donation items will always be op on any server) and such but they do not have the 3rd jobs(which your missing from the picture) I'm glade to answer any RO related questions you might have(best way via PM/Skype). that server in question has A LOT of custom additions to it alongside a VERY active WoE, check out there wiki http://wiki.rebirthro.com/Main_Page the only reason the server has went down is because it got attacked. The problem. The server has floating rates which make it balance between 200-100 job/base with drops staying at 20 unless there is an event, but its 255 max and has added content to go along with it. normal max level is ether 150 or 120 can't remember right now.
