Need mouse recommendations

So I'm looking to get a mouse in a coupla days, and could use some recommendations on what to get.

Dont mind paying for a good mouse, as long as it lasts me, and work great.

Main use is for FPS gaming.

 

I've had a two variations on the Logitech MX500/G5-type over maybe 10 years? First one went nearly 8 years.

Gotta be right handed, but it's a fairly simple, robust, and reliable mouse in my experience.

 

Coupla Questions;

Optical vs Laser ?

How important is DPI ?

 

I recommend the Logitech G700, best mouse ive used so far and ive used Logitech, Razer, and Microsoft mice.

 

I had the mx518 + G7 which had the same shape as the one Rbstr linked. They are to this day my favourite mice. My only hesitation to getting the g700 is it has a different shape. Both mice lasted for quite a while. The G7 still functions fine but I changed to a RAT 7 which is wired. You can't beat logitech for customer service IMO

 

I agree, I had to RMA a G700 that I dropped a few times and it started double clicking and triple clicking when I would click only once (probably something got damaged). I called them and told them that it was double clicking and triple clicking when I would only click once and they sent me a brand new replacement in its retail packaging without even having to mail them back the broken one. All they asked for was the numbering on the inside where the battery is stored. Since I had purchased it from the Logitech store they didnt even need a copy of the receipt or anything.

 

I have been using the SteelSeries Sensi for over a yer now without any issues at all, love this mouse!

 

I've been using the Razer Naga for years and swear by it. I may be lucky however.

 

I had a Razer Mamba for about a year and a half and it started to break at around a year of ownership, after about a year and a half it broke down completely. The rubber grips on the sides were glued on so they peeled off after about a year, the mouse laser would jump by itself when the mouse was sitting completely still (I tried it on two different mouse pads and it still had this issue), and it had the same double/triple clicking problem that my Logitech G700 got from dropping it so many times on the floor. The last part is understandable because it was dropped on the floor but the issues with the sticky grips and the laser not being accurate are two things that shouldnt happen after only a year-year and a half of ownership.

The return policy that Razer has is a bit more dodgy than the one that Logitech has as well, they only accept returns if you purchased it directly from their store.

 

I found this, but I can't speak for its accuracy. It rates mice based on sensor accuracy.



Personally, I like the Logitech Gn00 series because they last forever and are sturdy.

 

I dont know what you are talking about, my razer naga is beast and by far the best mouse i have ever owned.

I would say grab you a razer naga, you may think "why would i need 17 buttons on a mouse? thats overkill!" but then you end up keybinding 90% of them and wonder how you played before

 

You see, I've tried to use my mouse buttons but about all I end up doing is using forward and back while browsing the net. THe G keys on my k90 have gone untouched. Wish I had never purchased a keyboard/mouse with a ton of extra buttons. For me it was just a waste. The games I play just aren't conducive to macro keys. If you've never thought "I wish I had this bound to a button" and it isn't ruining your gameplay experience I would guess someone would be fine without those buttons.

I'm tellin ya, that new logitech GXXXs series is looking mighty good. I can guarantee within the month I will be making a move to one of those mice or back to my G7 wireless if the batteries will still hold a charge. I just don't see a compelling reason to go for anything except logitech mice. Great quality and unbeatable CS. They know what they are doing.

 

My main goal with this mouse is to basically, improve my sniping ability, so precision is key, and from that chart listed above, and many other references found elsewhere such as OCN, it seems the Deathadder is it.

 

Just remember that Razer products arent made to lasts more than a year or two when you pay for it (dont pay too much for it). Enigma and I have first hand experience with our Razer mice failing within 1-2 years.

 

See if you can find a mouse with a button that can drop DPI while it's held down.

 

To be honest, if someone made a adjustable weight econ grip mouse with high side button count I would be all over that bitch. Sadly the options are really limited.

A week or two ago, started to get some funny double click issues, nothing serious yet, but a sign of whats to come im guessing.
