wasnt the original mechwarrior an online game..im not sure what the news is here. a new engine? graphics? maybe i am thinking of another mech game that was online
Its about damn time, I thought this was going to get canceled for sure because we didnt hear any news about it for over a year. I have a terribly bad feeling that this will fail though if its going to be Free-to-Play. Free to play games usually have cash shops to give players advantages over other players or to be able to progress in the game. At least the mech fans still have Hawken to look forward to.
Some versions of Mechwarrior 2 were online, and MW3 and 4 were online as well. The original one came before network play existed in PC games.
Ben beat me to it, I remember MW2 had some online stuff. I really miss and enjoyed a whole lot more - the Heavy Gear series. Heavy Gear 2 was amazing. I'm a sucker for Mecha games although I haven't played them recently. Armored Core I think was the last series I touched.

its pretty fun too play as a side game its world of tanks w/ mechs I dont really feel like I accomplish anything at all in the game get coins buy a mech or some new weapons thats it nothing else
Mechwarrior Series is one of my favorite series of all time. This game took so long because they needed funding. They are actually launching a tactical RTS game too. The next beta round starts Aug 7. Its F2P but you can play beta if you purchase a founders pack. I don't expect much since the license from microsoft is restrictive and the only thing the dev has done before is the multiplayer for Duke Nukem Forever Hawken is definitely what I am looking forward too. Theres another mech game in the works too.

Got in beta for free woot ! I'm old school Battle Tech fan played for years . any way my point is they are staying true to the MechWarrior story tech and such . Just IS mech's so far no clan mech's . The game has a good feel or even better then the old MechWarrior . Down side it is F2P and kinda pay to win . that will depend on how things work on release . I have told dash I always wanted to see a MechWarrior division of XoO but i doubt it will happen with this game. anyway if any one else get in beta send me a pm I would love someone to play this game with.
