I saw the trailer for this when I was watching "The Hangover" seemed okay but nothing I would pay to watch. The best trailer I saw at the time was the 2012 movie where everyone dies, but I think I already know how it ends :D

Ugh. I'm a film production major and this is a very sore spot with me. It's the same story, just with another decent theme hollowed out so it can be overstuffed with remedial "winning formula" crap through any available orifice hollywood writers can find. Story goes as follows:

In a world where {stuff happens} humankind has been reduced to {something bad}. But out of the darkness rises one man, who will fight {the system/robots/aliens/swamp thing/whatever}. He must brave hordes of similarly garbed enemies who have been trained to very exacting standard of mediocrity and to rush our hero in waves of one or two so he can show off cool moves that would totally get you your ass kicked in a real fight. Along the way he will pick up {hot chick} who's sole purpose is to show some (or all) cleavage, tell our hero how awesome he is, and possibly get captured and need a rescue, invalidating the earlier notion hinted at that she was competent at anything besides the aforementioned two things.
At the end of his action packed, thrill-a-minute journey, he will fight {some guy} that we presume to be badass, since somewhere near the beginning he killed a lot of {people we feel bad for} in a most impressive manor. A fight will ensue, but thanks to our beloved hero utilizing {an easily exploitable weakness in the bad guy/skills gained along the way/the indomitable nature of the human spirit/a can of bear mace} he triumphs, society is saved, and his success is marketed as T-shirts, stickers, lunch boxes, ringtones, officially liscenced video games, and spaceballs the flame thrower.

    THE END

2012 looks AWESOME!!!, cataclysmic events ftw!!

  10. Can of bear mace FTW... but you forgot that the Hero will lose the upper hand during that final battle and then overcome it right before utter defeat (though the human spirit/bear mace covers that I guess).

Further proof that movie has glaring... flaws...

Commercial going around for it "the last time Gerard Butler kicked this much ass was 300 years ago".

every time i see that commercial I start to roffle in the failure >.<

  14. I'm gonna see this. Micheal and Gerard in the same movie?! ftw.

  15. I think the point was for the comma to be there: "the last time Gerard Butler kicked this much ass was 300, years ago"

It's a renter for me. It looks entertaining.

Wish leading roll was a new face instead of Butler again but Michael C Hall is an amazing actor so I'm excited to see his part.

  17. Ugh, aside from Hall's rendition of Fever, I don't know that it's even a renter. Download, maybe. I had to sit through it 'cause the girlfriend is gaga over Gerard.
