Gilneas Showcase Lost Isles Showcase And the Uber Awesome Debut Cataclysm Trailer we saw at Blizzcon.
holy shit.. did you hear about the no more mana, no more attack power.. yadda yadda for hunters?? I missed most of the class panel.. but wow... holy crap.. wow...
Can't believe WOTLK has been out a year almost already; doesn't seem that long, WoW is gonna be the next EQ expansion wise give it 2-3 years and Warcraft will have 12 expansions
Worgen were originally on the short list for for BC, but looks like they finally got in! Too bad they're stupid Alliance. Of course as always I will buy the expansion and play for 3 months and then cancel after I clear the biggest dungeon. They got a little more out of me with Lich King because I waited for Ulduar to patch in and took the extra two weeks to clear it. Can't wait to try goblin tho, there should be some fun quests in there.
Might be interesting. I'll decide if I want to come back to wow by how into Aion I am a year from now when this is released.
I don't know the way they are coming out with info and the fact that they seem to have most of the areas completed I think we may see this out by the holidays. They have said they are still trying for a yearly expansion schedule whether they can make that or not is another question. Also a little tidbit I read somewhere (I think it was on Giant Bomb) everybody is getting the world changes whether you buy the expansion or not. Which means even if you don't buy it you still get a new 1-60 experience to fart around with.
Well, they can't put out the new expansion this year.. due to the fact that we haven't even touched Icecrown or Arthas yet... and even then it will be months before that gets old. I say 2011 would be a good choice for a release OR late 2010. But they also have to factor in the release of SC2 and D3 will affect sales on WoW as well. So 2011 is looking to be more realistic imo in a time frame sense.
Shrug Arthas in Oct. Maybe release in dec would still get them their yearly release schedule they want. They said awhile ago that Arthas was going to stay the hardest boss in the game after they release him. So he is probably going to scale up when ever they put the level caps up. This expansion has intermediary written all over it so they might be trying for two quick expansions in a row one to set up the new world they want and also show some of the new story telling tools. The second with the real meat in it to fight off some of the new games hitting next year. But who knows we will just have to wait and see what happens. SWTOR is starting to generate a lot of noise with their fully voiced game and meaningful story arcs for each class. I mean if SWG hadn't been such a crap fest it would be the one with millions of subs not WOW right now. So I imagine they got a weary eye on it at the moment.
yeah if it wasnt for sony coming in and ruining the game, I saw SWG would be either ahead of, or neck and neck with WoW.
I stopped playing WoW after clearing Ulduar too, I was sick of Blizzard's constant easymoding for casuals..oh hey look I just raided for all this tier gear, and now you're going to "bring everyone else up to the level" with the badge rewards..same with PVP gear. The Vault bosses were some of the stupidest ideas ever, sure it was nice to get some of your loot from there, but for some players (like me) shit NEVER dropped because it was all chance..then you got people who have the rating required arena gear without ever touching an arena. Back in original WoW people in tier gear were respected, people were like "oh shit this guy is pro." Now if you have any item that's not epic you're automatically a scrub. They try to balance and they just end up tipping the scales in favor of one class every patch, someone always gets the short end of the stick and people always roll the FOTM class. I don't think Cataclysm will change any of these problems..balancing is a hard one to fix, and now that so many people play Warcraft they will always cater to their entire playerbase, casual or not, so they keep subscribers. The one thing I did like about Warcraft is how they tie in the story with the raid instances and their raid bosses, the fights are usually very creative and they go on a difficulty progression (you see a certain skill in a boss 5man version, then a raid boss later uses something very similar but much more rape). Still I guess they drop the ball sometimes, I was disappointed when my guild killed Yogg-Saron and there was no story whatsoever. /wow rant
I dont think you'll see the death or Arthas before the expansion, because at the start of the video they said while the forces are still fighting against Arthas in Northrend or something to that affect that this would be going on. They'll just probably have the Arthas raid at like 85 or something, not hard to do.
Im running around in WoW right now. Got into the lore and this looks like a cool way to go. The class/race stuff is kinda a shit on the lore but I played EQ and EQ2 killed class/race combinations completely. Seriouosly an Iksar that sings WTF?! Anyway it looks cool but definitly going to be playing SW:TOR as soon as it drops though.
I thin Nem is right, because they said Arthas was going to remain the hardest boss in the game, and will not be easy mode when a new expansion comes out like the old world shit has.
