I am going to be making a thread to keep everyone up to date on blizzcon since I have it streaming live in hd.
so, the quest phasing... will that mean that old zones will stay old till you reach the phase point or what? and i still wonder about the pvp level gap being too small
if there's some kind of phase thing too, i'd like to see it include a race change feature when the cataclysm occurs... even if its only offered that one time. they want people to be attached to their toons etc, but it's kind of lame if you wanted a druid but were forced to roll it as a tauren for example...
More on the leak courtesy of MMO-Champion Cataclysm Leak Follow-up The week-end has been .... interesting and I guess it's time to clarify a few facts : You're so wrong! Tons of people out there won't trust everything they read on the interweb, and I'm totally fine with that. But if you want to discuss about how wrong I am please do it in a nice way, you don't have to be aggressive and a lot of people got banned for that. I will probably clean up the bans from the last days after the Blizzcon but we can't really afford to let the forums get out of control with insults and spams. If you feel that you didn't deserve your ban at all just mail me and I'll try to have a look at it. Something Awful isn't reliable! I didn't want to hide the source of the quote posted a few minutes after my news post but I think a lot of people misunderstood that. After I posted the original information, a post appeared on Something Awful with a few extra details and I eventually merged it when it turned out to be ... reliable. The only details added from this post were : * The "big" changes to the existing lore (I don't want to spoil it again, you know what I'm talking about) * Gnomeregan possibly retaken by gnomes * Blackrock Spire eruption. And I think that's it, everything else was from my own personal work and is data gathered from multiple sources over the last month. Just lay down the pitchforks for the moment, the Blizzcon is only in 4 days and you'll have the rest of the year to laugh at me if what I posted is indeed wrong, there are enough french jokes in the world to do that. For the moment it's just a pre-Blizzcon leak, we have them each year and you should be used to it by now. Of course, each year, a lot of sites are wrong and I could be one of them. Nothing of what I posted was confirmed or commented by Blizzard.
If this is true, which i bet a fair amount of it is, Blizzard should be ashamed of their selves. Are they seriously only using WoW to fund thier other ventures now, i think this states it all. They are taking no consideration for the lore of Warcraft which they created and are now discarding all of it e.g tauren paladin, troll druids and just listening to the moaners and winers who want every class for every race(i wouldnt be shocked if we get Tauren Rogues next). As i heard someone say Blizzard will destroy WoW and i am very glad i quit this game Though i did have many fun and memroable times on The World Of Warcraft and some really great people who i used to play with. The game has become more of an annoyance than something to enjoy. Each patch and expansion pack seems to be ruining this once great game and i couldnt stand to watch it for much longer

re: troll droods I thought the same thing about it being ridiculous... but name a troll instance where they DON'T change into animals. Yeah I know not specifically druid, but it give it a basis for the class.
i wouldn't be surprised. i've always been a lorenerd and when i think about it, the way bliz has handled lore in wow was a major factor in my leaving the game last month. so much has been pulled out of thin air or rewritten as if the original story (read: lore, campaigns, heroes, geography, kingdoms, etc.) never existed. having played warcraft since orcs & humans i've really enjoyed seeing the remnants of important and historical events/figures in wow, and since war3 i fell in love with night elves (hence: i played a druid for three years). between the games and the novels, the lore in warcraft has been able to flourish, but it seems all major content in wow these days is developed with no respect for everything that's been building for what, 15 years!?
i thought the same when i looked at star wars new jedi order when it came out years ago, but i started up on it this year and have been impressed with it overall despite the start of it still sitting wrong to me. i enjoy lore to some degree, but its also a living thing. lore changes as new stories happen. and time and space being flexable based on the bronze dragonflight stories within the game, i see big changes to azeroth as being a decent xpact the more i think of it. i also think of the options for paladins or druids and orc or blood elf druids don't fit as much as trolls and same for orcs and trolls for paladins.
UGH! this is why I stopped playing WoW cause I KNEW they were going to pull something stupid like this. the class/race combo's are going to ruin the lore. The game is now lost and is now just an ordinary MMO. I know their just trying to expand the game further for more content but their really stretching their limits now. How much more will Blizzard do?
i'm certainly down with a changing azeroth. i also love where the story is going with this. i've been dying to see what bliz had in store for queen azshara and all that ties back to her. i don't know how i feel about thrall though. he's by far the BEST race/faction leader and of those currently "in power" the most influential in the warcraft story. so if he truly is relieving himself of his position as chieftan(or however that is working out), there better be something bigger and better for him in this new position. also, out of all the new race/class combos... NELF MAGE WTF!@*&^$!@ that is absolutely ludicrous. don't get me wrong, i myself would like to play a night elf mage, but as far as the "world" of warcraft is concerned, this is an absolute paradox. magic in the arcane sense of the word is the absolute evil for the night elves since the great sundering. now i suppose it's worth it to point out that this expac may indeed be heavily focused on going back to that era (via nozdormu, et al.) but being able to play a night elf mage in "real world" azeroth is simply broken.
i guess it just depends on how they're handling new azeroth for new toons... we'll have to wait and see
Expansion was confirmed, and the rumours were for the most part correct. Shadowfang Keep and Deadmines will be redone for heroic difficulties, Archaeology is the new profession, and images of the actual world changes were shown as well. As soon as the trailer is released, I'll (or I'm sure someone will) post it.

My curiosity is peaked . . . not sure how long they can hold my attention. The whole Argent Tourney pretty much killed it for me. Revamping old Az will be nice. Would love to see lvl 85 heroic Deadmines and Shadowfang Keep. Just a multilayered brainfart . . . excuse the smell . . .
wow... even though I like some of the new stuff.. tauren paladins.. etc... come on... I am so PISSED that I have to work today and tomorrow... FUCK... But oh well, 40 bucks wasted...
