I was looking around for a vent headset to replace my usb desk microphone that everyone says has alot of static and background noise and came across this sweet deal, thought id share it with others who dont have a good mic for vent. Plantronics.com has their DSP-500 USB Gaming headphones on clearance for $17.95 each which are the same exact headphones as their newer model the GameComPro1's that sell for $61, the only difference is that the newer model has silver paint and the older ones have black paint. You can buy the DSP-500's from this site in the Computer & Gaming section http://www.plantronics.com/north_america/en_US/products/clearance
I use the headset you are talking about.. Really nice and comfy people can understand you very well.. etc.. Really worth the buy..
just got them today, these headsets sound awesome, alot better then the cheap $10 headsets I was using before. Maybe I should order a couple more and horde them so I wont have to pay $80 for headsets when they dont sell them anymore
im probably gunna buy this because the headset i got was my dads first since my alst one broke lol. haha the headset i got has horrible sound quality haha its so pitiful, see lol
I think I might need a new one, the one I have no (Plantronics) never worked as far as mic skills on the old desktop, but nothing worked there. New laptop vent works fine though the system mic/speaks but not the headphones. Screwed with it awhile the one day. Roommates are just going to have to live with the voices in my head being audible.
I use Creative Fatal1ty headset the first series one they created, works great for me and is very comfortable to wear and has great sound quality. Great thing is i got it for £20. Only real downsides are the cheap plastic used to create the headset, everything else is great and for me the price i managed to get it for just makes it a great headphone to use in vent(alot of people saying to me how impressed they are with the clearness and quality of the headset when using vent).
Buy a DJ type headset, Big huge pading for you ears, These will be more comfertable after 10+ hrs of constant use, I started with little plastic ones which after 3hrs it began to hurt. QcK offer great comfert and quality, But prices are a lil high.
Yes they are great, but as you said a little steep in terms of prices, makes them kind of unviable. Especially as all you want to do is use them in Ventrillio.
Well heres where you are totaly wrong. I picked up one for 4.99 out of a local PC shop and trust me for that pirce it was 1 of the best ive came across in 6 years. Next ones i got were SteelSeries, These cost a pretty penny but for what they were worth were amazing... Softness was like a babys bottom (No pedo'ness inteneded). They were around 17-20 pounds. Current ones ive got are some unknown make from PC world. These were 18.99, Id give them a 8/10 for comfertness but for 1 thing id up the score would be the built in rumble pack.. This thing is like a vibrator on your head when playing FPS games, Kinda nice and unxpected sometimes, Really handy for picking up bass lines on footsteps. Moral of the story is that a Mic = Mic, Some make better quality and make you sound like a girl, Others make you sound like a serial killer.. Get a proper headset that will last you or stick to cheap ones, Defently stick with big ear muffs than a plastic frame.
Ha I have the exact same headset it's pretty much broke now though, might just have to get one of these.
