I agree, but Gamestop doesn't charge you til the game ships, so I don't see the harm in pre-ordering through them.
Why does it matter if you pay a year before or buy it the day it comes out? You're putting the same amount of money out either way.
My guess is that they'll push it all the way to either September or October for "final tweaking reasons"
I would say members only.. And Foxy, I am old school... Bob Barker or Bust.. Not that I don't like Drew, it's just not the same.
Because these companies make a substantial profit by banking and investing your preorder payments. Why should they make extra money with your money? By pushing this need-to-preorder culture, they have effectively created a new revenue stream which they have become ever more dependent upon. It just seems wrong to me. Would you buy a meal now that you won't eat until next year? I just don't believe in paying money for the right to buy a game. I just want the damn game. Strange, Gamestop aka EBGames charges minimum 5 bucks to preorder any title here. Maybe its different in the States?
Yeah, members only guys. I'd rather give the game to someone I know (even if I don't really know you =p). And some of you (Samakar) need to pick a DATE, not just a month to be entered into the pool. Keep them coming. Some interesting dates so far, like the same date as 1998 =D
No; but I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today. I don't see a problem with pre-ordering. The only concern I have is with stores that take pre-orders and then don't have enough supply to meet those pre-orders.
on the pre-order topic, you know why it started, it was to get rid of the people camping outside of stores waiting for that specific game to arrive they like they do with consoles, I find it a great idea but I also notices the flaws with it, since the game can be as someone else said, under stocked which causes problems with the consumer, also there are so many games out there with these floating release dates, if I'm going to pre-order I want to know that the date that I was told is the final date, other then that I have no problem with doing so. Yes pre-ordering has brought a whole new form of revenue, and you know what I would rather throw 5$ down then to make sure I will be able to have a copy on release date rather then have to do store bouncing till I find one that has a copy. So I find nothing wrong with a pre-order as long as the store doesn't fuck up and under stock the game, though if they offer a discount for there mistake I would forgive them, but most the time that won't happen. Also again my date is November 25th, 2010 and too the person that did the guess of there last release date that is an awesome idea.
