It uses the mechs from MechWarrior but i think its considered its own world/story line. They also play very different from the core MechWarrior games.
Man I'm so happy to hear this I still have all the MW games going back to crescent hawks revenge . I wore out so many joystick playing MW I lost count. So I guess it;s time to buy a new joystick . anyone seen any good ones cause I sure haven't.
I'd like to see some sort of control with more than just a joy stick. Like a joystick, left handed device and pedals or something.
Ahh yeah that what I'm talking about . no wait I want one of those pods they use to have at Dave & busters multi screens buttons to set up tics of groups weapons with paddles stick and throttle controls . Hmm may be I could build one..... muhahaha
The only actual MechWarrior-esque game for a console was the first SNES one... MW3050 was a top-down arcade-style shooter. SNES MW wasn't the kind of game that was particularly controllable on that platform though.
I remember trying out a beta build of MechWarrior 3 using a virtual headset at the first E3. I thought that was the coolest thing at the convention, even better than the super-hyped new Playstation.
I wish i still had the orignal mech warrior gamecd. You could play the music trakcs off it. the first track was just the data track and would just play with no sound, but the music was badass.
