Atlantica did a good job fixing most of what is wrong with asian MMO's, lets hope FF14 can follow in their footsteps

This was one of the best annoucements of E3. Till this day I still havne't played an MMO that was more entertaining or enjoyable as FFXI was. I'm certain they will address things like the grind fest and other issues.

Hmmm... funny Orlean hasn't posted about this one yet... must be flying under his radar... I'll prolly investigate this one same as I played FFXI for awhile.

The last FF I played was FF8. The rest were unplayable... 13 and 14 may redeem it. If 14 is anything like 11, then it'll suck. If 13 is like 12 then it'll suck as well. However, if 7 + 6 is anything like 12 divided into half, then it might be good.

FF8 was my favorite. FF10 had good replay value(to me) and FF12 was just unplayable half way through the game, which is good because the game was able to play itself the rest of the way through. It's like the writers just gave up half way

YA ff8 is one of my favorites too. Too bad that draw system was annoying as hell though.

I never really played FF8, only at a mates house on his PC so i never really got into it. Did kinda play FF7, 9 i played many times through and think its the best alongside 10. Played both 10 and 10-2 many times. Think my best game on 10 has been going for like 150-160 hours lol.

Sounds like we will have an XoO division for this game. It's to bad the game is a 2010 release but it's well worth the wait. Anyone who didn't enjoy 11 probably won't enjoy XIV but it's still to early to tell.

There will definitely be a new combat system. I'm imagining something more active so it help bring in a larger audience. Hopefully, it will be some kind of hybrid with elements of Vagrant Story, FFXI, and FFXII making it the perfect blend.

They have stated that they will be making the game more appealing to mainstream audience do to game like WoW. Excuse me.......................................................................... sorry I had to wipe my vomit off my keyboard, but let's hope they don't to many changes to appease tyros.

yea, does suck compared to modern mmos.... but keep in mind XI is *not* a modern mmo... its one of the old school, the first gen, hell, it didnt even have wasd as the default control scheme.... but it was the greatest of its time.

and i shall hope that XIV will rise to the modern mmo market

XI isn't really an old-school first gen MMO, I reckon it's a 3rd or 4th gen MMO depending on how you count. I think FF XIV is gonna be awesome, really looking forward to it. Gonna be quite a while before release though.

I vote Nishua for XoO or second in command. I will definitely be playing this game like it's my life next year so I better make 09 productive.

I hope it's like FFXI, just easier. That game is intensely hard and too demanding for the casual gamer.
