This is why I switched off of wireless mice. Nothing like wiping the raid because your batteries went dead. Or trying to snipe someone and they just go dead right as you shoot.
i like the Razer Lachesis... it's a solid mouse with lots of capability, awesome dpi, and it has a TAIL! wireless isn't bad, but i still remember the days when the charging contacts were on the bottom LOL
That'd be a good response but I don't know of anyone that uses their mouse 24/7 for 3 days so even when you go to bed can't put the mouse on the charger.. Tho I know one of the logitech mouses comes with 2 batteries that you can change out easily. I just hate cords.
G7 anyone? absolutely nothing wrong with that bad boy for gaming. I love it. swapping takes all of 2 seconds if you really need to and they do have power level monitors. Not once have I had the battery die on me when I was on a tight pinch. I played many many hours of GW on that things and many more in BF2142 without a hitch. I could see a problem with any other mice that don't have a nice eject button though. Someone was thinking when they made this mouse.
Yup, you press it and the L-ion cartridge pops out of the mouse. Take the fresh one out of the charging station and slide it right back in. All done.
They're proprietary batteries, so you're forced to buy directly from Logitech. Also being a different form factor, you can't just grab a pair of AA's whenever your batteries die out.
Why would you need to? They are rechargeable. Li-Ion have the longest lifetime of any batteries. It eliminates the need to use any pair of AA batteries which will die and is harmful to the environment. For a gamer you can go through AA batteries pretty quick. With this there is always a fresh battery waiting for you. Having used it for just over 2-3 years now I can tell you there is no downside to it and I've saved a lot of money in not purchasing AA batteries for it. That definitely offset the $115 price tag when it initially came out years ago. Seems a little short sited actually to not have a rechargeable Li-ion pack in a mouse. But then again you can do away with all batteries if you just use a wired mouse. I prefer wireless though so Li-Ion is the best choice. These are the same kind of batteries you use in your digital camera that last a relatively long time compared to those AA batteries you think are a better idea. **That was a generalization about longest life. Other variations of Lithium batteries last much much longer. E.g. LiF for one. I believe the ones in electronics are liCoO2. It's one big redox reaction. Normal AA are just drained and tossed. Rechargeable AA batteries also cost an arm and a leg and take a lot longer to charge. The process for reversing the Li Ions back into Li is fairly quick. It can be totally recharged in 2-3 hours and I guarantee you aren't going to burn through the other pack in even close to that time.
There are rechargeable AA/AAA batteries if you're concerned about the environment. I'm just saying using a proprietary form factor for something used as much as a mouse isn't the greatest idea.
Yeah they are. But it doesn't make the mouse seem flimsy. It feels solid underhand. I still don't see how it is a bad idea >.< You don't and never will need another AA battery for your mouse >.< They recharge quicker. Hold it for longer. They don't degrade like rechargeable AA batteries either under normal conditions.
No I'm saying taht mouse being lighter = good.. Especially for twitch games. I'm all for the packs.. Kinda surprised not all wireless mouses do that.. But then again not a huge deal since mouse sits on the charger for a couple hours and its ready to go for 3 days+
