Association and representation goes a long way. I remember joining XoO and whenever I got in a tiff with someone outside of our Outfit in PS, I would hear about it from an officer because I was "representing our guild and it gives us a bad name when a member acts out of conduct". Yeah, it was *me* who was saying it, and I was in no way speaking for all of XoO, but that is how others see it.

Same with this. It may be some retard comedian on a 3am...But he is speaking *on* a national news station, representing that station. Fox being as large as it is, one can consider him representing the U.S. That's like someone on the CBC saying something...The CBC is so large here, one can consider him representing *our* voice.

I would venture to say alot of Americans don't even consider Canada a real country, just our crazy northern neighbors who say EH and ABOOT. It's this opinion that I think frustrates me the most, because it's actually true. MOST American's *don't* give Canada a second look. But they don't realize how valuable we are to your entire wellbeing as a nation, and how much of an impact we have had over the years for you. Or do I need to bring up World War 2 again? All most Americans think is "Oh, Canada...What have they ever done?" If you took 5 minutes to look up a few things, you'd realize how much we have.

I personally never understood the whole "I'm part of this nation" pride/patriotism crap. Look at me I'm better than you because I live here. Who gives a fuck. Unless you chose to live where you are at then its just another justification you are giving yourself as to why you are stuck in a shitty situation or one that completely blows and you are lying to yourself.

As for the "you are representing your country so you stand for all of it" crap... You chose to join XoO and so did everyone else in it. So yes you do represent XoO. Mostly because you can get kicked out so you do represent us as a whole through your actions. We didn't choose to live in the US or you in Canada and no we can't kick out the idiots, so no I wouldn't vouch for the idiots that live here or say that they represent my views. Comparing a nation to a video game guild is just stupid.

well, the problem is that its a comedy show on a 24 hour news network.... though i didn't realize it was supposed to be comedy. once again, Fox has shown how the minority of us feel and others take their 3am antics as our beliefs

Not to say that Canadians aren't insecure either. We just use self-deprecation, which I would argue is the better way.
