Talk about your best ever gaming memory here. What game were you playing? What made it so much fun? I've been dabbling in a variety of MMOs searching for a game that lights my fire. I sat down yesterday and actually thought about my best gaming memories and I came up with. . . . Guild PvP matches in Guild Wars. Before joining XoO, I was a member of an EU based PvP guild called Slayers And Scholars (SaS) and all we did was GvG. This was back when Idiot Savants and War Machine and Last Pride were active. Good times. So what was it about those times that struck such a chord? Basically the teamwork and the head to head match-ups with other guilds. Team gaming is kind of like relay racing. You always swim / run faster or do it better when you're part of a team rather than racing / competing solo. There's an added incentive to raise your standard so as 'not to let your buddies down.' Competing in those GvGs quickly bred a pride in the guild. Good times indeed. How I wish WAR had something similar - Guild Versus Guild matchups in scenarios or something. . . So what about you guys?
Winning our CoD4 matches and getting to the top of our ladders! That is always some of the best competition and teamwork I have seen in XoO. The HA in GW was the most fun ive had in an MMO.
In an MMO the most fun I had was doing some gvg with the west coast XoO guys (Onslaught of Xen when we made that the west coast gvg, and the main guild the east coast gvg). We weren't amazing, but it was so much fun because the way our team sort of came together. A bunch of fun personalities in vent having fun made that my favorite time in an mmo.
spawn camping an enemy guild + randoms in Vanguard for a total of 7 hours. We did 4 hours then came back and did another 3.
Dominating the Mechwarrior league I was playing in during '05. I missed the PvP phase in GW because of that, but hey, it's rare for a group of 20-30 people to be utterly unbeatable in two games at the same time. The two were actually quite similar - 8 vs. 8 matches to the death.
Having the SOE dev team in SWG, hold an ingame ceremony for my guild and alliance for having the longest standing base on all servers.(pre-cu ofc) Was awesome. They landed in Imperial shuttles and had AT-AT's walking around.
Training for over a week in RF Online to defeat the rival guild Vengeance in GvG. We shut them down pretty hard All the good times RvRing in RF Online with the old guildies.
THE MOMENT I JOINED XEN OF ONSLAUGHT!!!! actually no, my best gaming memory was when Diablo demo came out my dad got it and i made my own char and got to the butcher and he came running after me so i ran away to the previous level thinking he would reset. But when i went back down the stairs he was right there waiting for me!!!!
I think my favorite was when i pulled off a 1v5 recovery in a counter strike match several years ago, though KJ in november was pretty badass too
The feeling of satisfaction after getting that silly little sphere to the end of the level in Marble Madness. It was my first video game everrrrr.
I have to say it was harrasing people with my Iksar Monk in eq1. Training zones onto groups and Feign Deathing to watch them die. Jumping off the platforms in Kelethin with the banker following and laughing as all the wood elfs couldnt bank till he respawned. (Kelethin was a big city in the trees the woodelfs had monks got safe fall and could survive the jump the NPC banker couldnt.)
God I loved guild wars back then. It was too much fun for its own good!!! I remember deciding i wanted to join this guild so i set off looking for XoO players in game and started playing with them, then got myself invited into the guild Secret agent style. Just call me Ryld Bond Basically most of my greatest memories have been anytime I played with fellow XoO in games. BF2142 was too much fun when we got a group of us together. Nothing specifically stands out though as far as individual moments. Another great group of memories is when the first Rainbow Six game came out for the xbox. Easily the best multiplayer of any game made. IMO. That game up took up more of my time than any other FPS has. I remember 6 hour sessions daily of that game online. Play from 7/8pm until 1/2 in the morning and then be up for school at 7 lol Good old high school lol such a simple time. I used to be a big video game nerd lol I can't even find a game to hold my attention for >1 hour now.
GW is definitely my favorite for MMO, unfortunately not XoO though, I used to be part of the big Creegus Alliance and that was probably my favorite times For an FPS CoD4 matches with you guys or the beginning of Halo 3 when we would have full groups running around in Big Team destroying other teams. Me and PDog did that last week and its still too much fun.
