Some points: 1 - The 3'000 forum visitors is useless unless we can compare it to the forum visitors of other MMOs at a similar point in their development period. Does anyone have these numbers ? (This question goes for you and Kyoji) 2 - What is the target population size of a Darkfall shard* ? 3 - Based on that number, what would be a reasonable number of people for the stress test ? At a rough guess I'd say 1.5 times that number at most because if a single shard can handle them without lag, then another shard in an identical configuration will also handle it. 1.5 times the target population should be a sufficient test of the hardware because it takes the population up to the level that crowding will cause problems that are unrelated to lag. *Shard, realm, server, etc. I don't care too much about what you call them although I don't like using 'server' as I want to distinguish between the physical machines and the separate shards. Remember that depending on the game a physical server can run multiple shards, or a shard can require multiple physical servers to handle the single shard.
Lol, we know you're employed by Darkfall Studios (or w/e they're called), but I have a hard time believing that the majority of them are.
