A parody of the R Kelly song. I found it highly amusing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d5oDfFWadz0&feature=PlayList&p=EA0B60FA556C0EFE&index=5
I find it amusing that mental retardation only applies as a status if it happens before the age of 18, where as people can grow up to have the mental, social, emotional or spiritual maturity of someone under 18 their entire lives. I don't know if I would agree on a generalized level of sexual consent ethics (besides, one of the guys I love most in the world is in love with one of the girls I love most in the world, and not only do I agree with the love and support it but I understand and appreciate the situation as both people are mature enough to have that sort of relationship even though she's in high school and he isn't) but I can agree that in a lot of cases, ESPECIALLY one where the male or female of higher age is famous or powerful that this law should be in full effect, because that usually kills the younger age's reasoning. Same with the lower age being in power, the male or female who is not in power but who is older would be more prone to manipulation and it would be their judgement of their own intent which would be starstruck. Personally, I think it's a matter of trust and intent, which needs to be felt out from day 1 and the best way to do this is to raise your kids right in the first place, either that or admit you fail at parenting and forbid your kids to be happy rather than letting them be happy while you are fearful for the repercussions of your bad parenting. tl;dr People are retarded, younger people sometimes are more mature than even older people and such blanket statements lead to unhappiness if treated indiscriminately.
