The first link was pretty good, I have the rankin remix of the second song (it's actually just a sampler vocal someone else remixed). Really Kyoji, I'm into goa trance and dancing with mediums, I'm not sure if you know what I mean by that so I'll post a link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TVp6zjuxrmk Spun to shiva shidapu, which is all I ever listen to now adays.
now I knew about that, but I also knew you enjoyed those stranger forms of things and seemed more theatrical than most of us. To me those kids seemed like part of a theatrical community/club or taking classes for it.
They looked like they were practicing a choriography skit, which is pretty cool and I think a lot of people like that sort of thing, but I think it really loses energy the more people you add to groups with little training, and more than 3 tends to diminish it too far for my taste. There are the exceptions though, kind of like how barbershop quartets seem to work, but only though intense training and solid group minmaxing. Plus, I don't see any power there, and for me there has to be a sense of physical power and exertion to emphasize the beauty of moving fluidly. Don't get me wrong, orthadox dancing is very nice to look at, but it lacks either the energy or complexity needed to stimulate the mind or the soul, and without either, it just doesn't do it for me.
LOL lev, you reminded me of an embarrassing picture of me from a couple of years ago: Not that glowsticks are anywhere as close to being as cool as poi is. On a side note I got to meet paul van dyk that night. (Not that I remember that much by that point in the evening , but I have the pics and autograph to prove it.)
Glowsticking wraps are pretty nice, you should check out flowpoi technology, they have microstrobe variations that make patterns when you spin, at least they make good ballpoi handles when your performing for other poi dancers to emphasize the geometric patterns as apposed to sheer mes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CFez03GHpTE I'm training with Alien Jon right now, every day we brainstorm wild advances into new spin tech, I drew a 7 point star smooth plane shift map the other day... loving every moment. Please tell us more about your adventures tribat =]
whoa that's awesome you met paul van dyk...and i don't say awesome casually.I hate the word now..but that was awesome..cool pic.
i like those led sticks that flashes letters..then while its spinning in the air it it makes words. In the dark it looks like words floating around.
