Though if you want real advice on this, go find yourself a lawyer. Preferably a sleazy one who can shake some money out of them.

That is the information for "Dave" from the "Fraud department"

That is the whois information for accounts.com
    ----

"I ordered from this website, and they said most deliveries within an hour. However five days later, they still had not delivered.

They claimed to have done a partial delivery, but this turned out to be a lie. They claim to have 24/7 live customer support. You get emails all written in the same style, yet signed with a different name every time, though it is clear it is the same person emailing.

This group will string you along for days until you finally ask for a refund. Then the 'live 24/7' service dries up and you hear nothing.

Very clearly a SCAM, I am in the process of resolving through Paypal, but a long process that will take weeks if not months.

The website looks the part, they have plenty of testimonials so impressed with their speed, and service, so I guess they are faked as well. Looks good but get the fat scam rating from me. Only $122US but still, it is the principle of the matter.

Please spread the word, and thank god for ripoffreport, if only I had checked here first!

    Warlock, Auckland, New Zealand"

That is a quote of a scam accusation against "Atlas Technology Group Inc.", however it is a different site he is accusing, which happens to be a domain "wowgold.com"

Now if you do a whois search for wowgold you get totally different contact and technical information, however the nameservers are the same as well as the IP location.

Finally, for the big bang, here is the whois information for "wowgold.com"

    Administrative contact:

    Billing contact:

A fake address in Hong Kong, can anyone say scam?

Getting IP and ISP is pretty easy. If I wanted to, I could get anyone's IP on the forums with the click of a button. Its that simple.

Now, as for the matter at hand, there is nothing you can be slammed on. Pretty much if they try to do something and get Blizzard involved they will face a counter lawsuit because of a gross violation of the EULA or w/e its called.

Its sort of like drugs out in Amsterdam, but in reverse. Its illegal to sell drugs in amsterdam (IIRC) but it is not illegal to use it and possibly buy it... or something. I think this point is not actually a good one but I like my analogy, so I'm keeping it there....

I just can't believe a company that profits from illegal activities is going to use legal means to settle this. Especially for such a tiny amount - lawyer and court fees would be far more expensive than anything they would get back.

Heck, "Dave" doesn't even give his last name. This is definitely a scam. But if you really want to settle your fears, go and talk to a real lawyer. It will cost you some money, but you will feel better.

This whole situation is also proof of the following advice to us all...

DON'T EVER BUY OR SELL GAME ACCOUNTS!!!

Please also send any information you believe relevant, i am entitled to this information if this ever could turn out to be a possible lawsuit previous to discovery so do not hide behind that. i am still planning on returning the account but i would like this information before i do.

It is so obviously a scam that I am laughing at how many posts are in this thread.

    -Grammar
    -Lack of definitive information
-The fact that they, a company who illegally purchases game accounts, would contact the game developers? WTF LOL!!!! Not including the fact that you sold a private server account! That made me chuckle just because.

All reason's this is fake, and there are more but I wanted to keep this short.

Don't go waste you're money for a lawyer, change your credit card, and pay pal shit, report the site to blizzard and have a beer. Simple huh? Oh, and don't sell anymore game accounts either.

Lastly, you are an idiot. Use your brain next time.

    Ok, fine.

But rather than emailing him, how about you phone a free legal helpline, and tell them the situation, they will advise you on what to do.

But they're going to say the same thing we've all said.

Maybe if you weren't such a pot head, you wouldn't be so ignorant to the situation. Excessive use of that shit will fuck you up after a while.

EULA violation you agreed to. Simple as that. They are losing potential profits from from you selling an account with an already leveled character.

He is lying. So contact Blizzard and start an inquiry yourself.
Then why hasn't he given that number to you ?
Because he doesn't actually have it.
He got the IP address from when you accessed their website, and finding the ISP from an IP address is easy.
It will cost them more to file the lawsuit than they will get from you. Especially if you fight it.
They are lying to you. Call their bluff.

    Contact Blizzard. Tell Blizzard everything.

Blizzard, and only Blizzard, can close the account. So if you want to close it, they are who you need to talk to.

Ask for them to prove that they are legit. As in a physical street address, not a PO box.

Let me guess, you gave them your cellphone number when you sold the account.

Next time they call you, tell them that you are recording the call. Listen to them trying to BS their way out of it. Then tell them that until you can confirm that the laws against recording calls that they refer to exist, you will not communicate with them in any means that is not recorded.

Ask for them to prove that they are legit. As in a physical street address (not a PO box) and some proof they are registered as a business.

You gave them your cellphone number when you sold the account, didn't you ?

Contact the police about this, since they are trying to defraud you over the phone. Thus leaving more records.

Why aren't you listening to our advice about talking to someone other than this company ?

Forget about trying to resolve it through this 'company', as they know how to lie and intimidate you. Contact:
    - Blizzard
    - Paypal (in case they do try something here)
    - Your credit card company
    - A lawyer
    - The police, to find out who you contact to file a fraud complaint against this company.

The worst Blizzard can do to you for breaking the EULA is prevent you from playing WoW.

I will not give you any more advise until you show that you are following the advise I have already given.
