https://www.ashesofcreation.com/for...o-summarizing-most-faqs-on-ashes-of-creation/ Here's a nice video talking about some of the game information that has been discussed by the DEVs on the Discord. QnA. @Ironjaw Also awesome, appreciate the bump. If you can refer me as well if you don't mind and can. https://www.ashesofcreation.com/ref/Ezenkrul87/
@Naboo I just made an account and will watch. With the time and energy I am putting in CoE, I doubt I will do too much if they come out around the same time though.
https://www.ashesofcreation.com/ Kickstarter is 05/01/2017 As well as Node Series Part II https://www.ashesofcreation.com/node-series-part-2-metropolis/
@arcanmene yeah I hear ya, i'm still on the CoE train of course, but this one looks like a competitor, at least to me. I'll be keeping my eye on it and will probably only kick start it at a lower level just to grab a piece at the start @Ezenkrul super excited they "released" their kickstarter date, can't wait
so for those of you who haven't been keeping tabs on AoC all classes have been announced "8 archetypes are Fighter, Tank, Rogue, Ranger, Mage, Summoner, Cleric, and Bard." mage is only video currently but Rogue should be coming soon Kickstarter is about to go live on the 1st of May
Yeah, he and I are working on getting a time set up, we work opposite hours X.X They will actually be releasing a lot of information come May as to showcase the game for the Kickstarter. They will be hosting Twitch streams Monday, Wednesday and Friday during the Kickstarter. https://www.twitch.tv/ashesofcreation
Well I backed the game up for 2,500.00. Kickstarter is up and running. They've reached 45% of their goal already.
Oh damn, 2,5k right off the bat, eh? Haven't really looked up this game other than a couple of youtube videos, would you mind explaining how this will stack up against CoE? I get that it will be sandbox, open world, player driven and all that. I also did love that jab at p2w games(we'll see how they'll do). Other than that, do you know any more information?
Honestly Just love the idea behind the game. The node system, if they can pull it off, is extremely interesting. I feel they are extremely passionate about what they do and they are not answering to anyone but themselves and their players, with whom they been communicating with quite well. I was actually following CoE, but as more and more information came out about the game I just got turned off. I always play a caster in MMOs and so the lack of magic or the rarity of it really turned me off. I also dislike the perma-death feature, even though your next toon can advance faster I just dislike leveling over and over again. I feel that Ashes is taking a lot of what I enjoyed in other games and adding them all together and hopefully will make them better. You can farm and own land like in Archeage and even though it will be somewhat limited they will still have player housing that everyone can eventually acquire. The class system is quite interesting as well. A friend told me it is similar to FF14 but I never played that game for long. They will have castle sieges like in Lineage 2 with a similar yet different open world PVP system. They have even mentioned having a "Hero" system in the game. Honestly, it is a huge risk, but I like what I've seen so far. Hopefully, they won't need to go to a P2W model, but time will tell. ******************Also, I got 6 closed beta keys. I will be giving these keys to people in the guild first before I give them to friends then randoms.***************** Closed Beta phase 1 date is unknown at this time**********
Oh wow, you just got me interested. Whenever somebody mentions similarities with Lineage2, my senses start tingling. Completely open world PvP is something I am a huge fan of, I've got amazing memories from L2 in that regard, also sieges were amazing. The "hero" system that you've mention, did they talk about it with regards to the hero system in L2 or in a completely different context?
The one thing.. ONE THING i like about this game more than COE right now. Is you cant buy your way into Kingship. Your going to have to fight for it hard.
I really agree that is another thing that turned me off. Their packages, in my opinion, are more pay to win than Ashes. Acquiring King or Mayor status actually take work and work in different ways. To become king you need to siege a castle and win. To become mayor it will depend on what type of Node you are trying for. Merchant node you'll need to buy your way with in game currency, military node you need to pvp for the position, religious node is a long chain of quests and the science node is a voting system. Not to mention you get a dragon mount that has free flight and helps in PvP
Ugh correction: They are freaking closed beta access keys not alpha. Phase 1 and that date is unknown. My bad
