Im kinda sad the Division died for this game.. Ill probably be playing it again once it comes out. May check out the last Beta to the changes as well.
The grind is just so heavy on this game to play at a competitive level. I'll probably check out the patch, but I don't expect to be impressed based on the direction they have taken it. If there are folks that really want to play this one and I decide not to, then I have a couple of accounts to donate (Alliterator has been playing one of them, so he gets first dibs).
I think there are a few of us that plan on playing it after the 13th wipe to check out the changes and then revisit it again on the July launch. Likely we could use any donated accts if they are available.
I wouldn't mind giving my account up. My time commitment and everything isn't there to add this into my rotation at this point.
@XStunnaX would probably take it then. If not him I'll take it and put it to farm use and the gold for us. @Ironjaw like someone that's always high? lol that's all I get told about my voice. That or I'm smooth like a poor man's Barry White
So its still grindy as hell, but their bot detection capabilities suck. I might just write a few scripts to do my grinding for me and see if they can figure me out. If I can just bot the account to a viable PvP build before I get banned, then I might play it later.
Its still the same unimaginative, repetitive PvE that its been since early betas. The only path to progression is to grind dungeons ad nauseum for hours on end every day until you acquire enough fame to use gear that is remotely useful. I just cant see myself committing to the time sink required in bad content just to be able to participate in the only part of the game that has any value (the PvP). It appears that they are reliant on player reporting for bot detection, so if you aren't blatantly piling up bodies in an area that other players will see them, then you are unlikely to be noticed.
yeah its not quite so bad for release because you arent getting reset, new mob types and eco systems didnt help any eh?
Lol. Apparently you can get banned for 200 years if you stack up a couple hundred dead mobs right outside the entrance to a town. Honestly, bots are going to run this game just because of the amount of grind they have built into it. Anyone with a decent script that can run on a 30-40 min loop will probably never get caught.
Re-spawn rates in dungeons are too low and there is too much traffic in them (you'll get noticed there). However, if you run a circuit through a couple zones of open world and dump off stuff in the chests as you pass towns, or just don't enter towns at all, then they won't notice it. Also, have some guild tag on (not XoO), because people will /invite and mess up your bot if they suspect you.
I forgot it was releasing. I'm going to update it and give it a spin for a bit, but probably just going to play super casual for a bit and see if I can get back into it. I think Alliterator is planning to play as well. Provided the name isn't taken I will be "Eumaeos". The download is taking forever. Servers swamped right now?
