I'm currently using Time-Warner for tv/internet and AT&T for phone. I'm thinking about getting U-verse since the cable is expensive and I'm tired of it dropping on me at the worst possible time. I was wondering if anyone else has switched. My internet service in theory has throughput of 10/1.5, but even though I'm in the boonies (so I don't think I'm sharing with too many neighbors) I don't come close to that speed and I understand it's all throttled anyway. I'm wondering which speed I should get, do I need max which is also 10/1.5, or will I find that pro or even elite feel just as fast? I have two game machines, so it's fairly common that two people will be playing online games at the same time, but I mostly do my gaming late at night when everyone else is asleep. Anyone have any really good or really bad experiences with it? So far everyone that I've talked to that had it really liked it.
speedtest.net If you dont get the speed you pay for, tell them, and how long its been going on for. They may credit you with a month of service. I know AT&T sucks balls....for everything.
My wife likes to talk on the phone, she doesn't get disconnected every night for a minute like I do with my cable modem... What's another option then? I wanted to check out Verison, but their web tool to see if they can even give me service doesn't work for me...
I switched from Dish Network for TV and Time Warner for Cable Internet to U-Verse about 6 months or so ago due to constant issues with my Internet. I actually just had my first hiccup with the service the other night. It went down for like 30 secs. It's an AMAZING difference for me personally. Last time I checked Speed Test I was at 20/2 speed wise. I have the max package. As for TV, I will admit the HD channels aren't QUITE as good, but it's really not that noticeable to me. The big deal for me is no outages during storms. My wife and little girl didn't like TV outages.
