Looks interesting, but we will need to see what plans they have for the typical grind. I always felt TERA was a lost opportunity for the NA division.
Should have lead it yourself, wouldn't have split up division for EU and NA that way probably...but hindsight 20/20. Was fun for the time it lasted.
Theres 2 big downsides to this game. The first, It looks like a BnS clone, thats goign to put people off considering how bad that turned out. The second, My.com suck and i would expect some heavy P2W down the line.
I like how people in BDO keep saying "omg people will leave for revelation!" dont see much hype otherwise tho
The thing I'd like to comment here is about My.com, I spent a fair amount backing Skyforge and put some serious time into it so I feel I have a good perspective on how the company runs itself. I will definitely say that playing a My.com game put a really nasty taste in my mouth and for this reason alone I'd doubt I'd ever try this game out. In my mind Revelation is just a way for My.com to cash in on the BnS theme before the mmo market figures out a new 'hot' concept.
I loved it too initially, took maybe 4-5 months until I realized end game wasn't really end game, it was more of 'this shit never ends' game and the entire playerbase ended up getting fragmented into these pockets of players who could actually play 'end game' together while people higher level then you could basically faceroll you through your version of end game. Obviously Revelation is made by another developer but we all know how certain publishers can affect games not made by them so I really don't see how my.com's influence won't be felt in this game. I'm getting kinda sick of mmo's in general and I've only really been interested in more niche mmo's like mmoarpgs (Lost Ark omg yes) and mmofps (played Firefall, Defiance and now The Division, fuck Destiny though....)
Trouble with the KR games is that the way they are always seems unexpected by players in the rest of the world. KR games are always grindy, they are always heavy on RNG and they will almost always have P2W aspects. I don't expect Revelation to be any different. I also dont think it will have much mass appeal once the initial players get bored and move on in a month. I think i only lasted about a week on SkyForge, just couldnt get into it. Defiance though... I enjoyed that for a bit - might have to re-download.
I think I made it about a month, we liked it, upgraded packages and then my friend just said F it, I think i lasted another week and then the guild I had joined which had 100+ members basically had dropped it within the next couple weeks
I was one of the main officers in BnR....I have a feeling you guys might remember BnR....I feel ashamed at being part of the group because I was warned about them but kinda joined them thinking they can't be that bad....well BnR is worse then DVS imo, they are basically a cult.
Yup...was an interesting experience. Becoming an 'officer' required a 2 hour training course and when I wanted to step down from leadership they removed me from the guild. I didn't even say anything bad about them until after they removed me and then proceeded to poach about half of their guild and brought them to Warrior Poets. BnR in Skyforge literally died when they kicked me out, they actually stopped supporting the division because of 'lack of interest'. They had recruitment quotas and they actually threatened to remove me from the guild a few weeks in a row because I refused to spam recruitment messages in public zones to get new recruits.
Combat Graphics looks like any kind of large scale pvp will be completely indecipherable. So much flash/bang and particle effect makes for a pretty meh combat environment. Might try it if the early reviews from XOO are good though.
