Do you plan your Black Friday with the precision of a military unit?

Do you and your family fan out across Wal-Mart in color-coordinated sweats, walkie talkies in hand, to find the best deals on the day after Thanksgiving? Is Black Friday - the opening of the holiday shopping season - an annual event at your house that requires scouring ads, planning ahead and coordination?

In this economic climate, things may get even crazier than normal, so be prepared!
I stole this wonderful List for the best Black friday sales from my friend, you can create your own shopping list also.
    Hehe...
What are your Black Friday plans?

    Word.

I made the mistake of allowing myself to be coerced into shopping at "just a few stores" with my mom and sister last year, .... it was a hellish nightmare, worse than trying to return something the day after xmas (which I will also never do again).

I hate people way too much to subject myself to that <3 Intarweb ftw!

I'm going to be at my mom's for Thanksgiving so...I'm going to get dragged to whatever she wants to drag me to!

Fortunately, sleeping in late is a right in my family, so the earliest we'll hit the stores (if we do go out) will be about 1pm. LOL

    Amazon has sweet-ass deals.

WAR is half price, and game-cards are almost half-price. A crap-ton of console and hand-held games are also on sale. Some PC ones, too. Accessories for console and PC also on sale.

Whatever happened in your neck of the woods, I do hope your "plans" weren't as nefarious as those of the people of Valley Stream!

I have to note I do struggle to understand how you can have such a serious economic hit as has taken place this year ... and people are still rushing out to buy stuff for the Christmas season. I got the impression they couldn't afford it?

This years Black Friday was far more hype than anything else. It wasn't anywhere near what it has been in previous years. However, there were still some sweet deals on certain items; and some people still do have disposable income (like me spending $1500 on components for my new computer).

There's a lot of hype to that. Yes, some people who are retired or who lost their jobs, or who took out crazy home mortgages that they could never afford to begin with are in trouble, but really, everyone else is just fine.

I took a hit, but it's all on paper, since I lost money in retirement investments. I'm only 36 which means my investments have ~20+ years to rebound, so I'm not sweating it. It has literally zero impact on my paycheck right now, so my ability to buy Christmas presents is totally unaffected by the current economic crunch. My guess is that most of the U.S. is really in the same boat with me, despite all the panic on the news.

I actually spent more this year than any other year. This year's BF deals have been decent, but nothing worth trampling people to death for.
