    Hahaha
Well, knowing XoO, we will put our fat fingers in every aspect of the MMO we play. So if piracy is there, im sure part of XoO SC Division will profit from it.

The only rule we have outlined so far is no stealing from other members and alliances. Everyone else is fair game. Currently we have no alliances. ;)

I'd like to know more information about it personally as I'm interested in piracy myself. But if they make it really hard to be able to sustain a career as a pirate then I'll probably choose something on the other side of the law. I don't mind having to go to a shady space port or pirate planet to sell my goods. But lets say if a friend decides to play a "good guy" and I'm a pirate. We decided to run some missions together and it turns out it affects his status (guilt by association) then it would suck. Another question is will Organizations be accountable for member actions? Again I don't think they've said anything regarding this. So it's early to say.

We want to encourage our member base to play the game the way they want to play.

I think the only way that the guild would be held responsible is probably by the other guild that was taken from will probably want to get their shit back, there are a lot of HUGE organizations in this game(1000-10000 members) so it could be problematic, espically with such low numbers... who have we made alliances with thus far?

Of course organizations are responsible for their members.
That's what it means to be part of an org.

And as you say, there are some very big organizations out there, and alliances thereof.
Piracy is not something to engage in lightly. It will have consequences.

XoO's exact stance and code of conduct will be more clearly defined when the game gets closer to release.

I propose, as a base idea to build from, to look at the outlaw motto from the "Outlaw Star" anime :
_Don't break the law ... but don't be bound by it.
ie. a third way between space forces and pirates.

I definitely like the idea of that.... may also have to look up that Anime.

I haven't seen much regarding piracy but from what I have read about the PU I think we would get more out of the game if we where not having to worry about stopping on a UEE controlled planet.

With 800K+ player base (exact numbers can be debated later) I believe there should be the opportunity to play on both sides of the law.... depending the event details of the day. I'd wager that alt corps for less than honorable actions will be setup for larger organizations. Perhaps this will be an option here when required. Being operational in all aspects should be a consideration.
