Is there any date for the 390 GPUs ? It seems it's 2016 too ???

AMD seems to go with a complete new CPU thing as well, but they always come with a new thing that doesn't work half as good as Intel...

I wonder how this company works, they have great ideas but fumble the designs.

Pretty sure the AMD 390 is a few months out, probably around the same time as the 980Ti since Nvidia has no incentive to release that card until AMD releases their new ones.

Alright then i'll probably wait for those and see. The leaked benchmarks are awesome but they are probably fake as the 390 is like the Titan X in terms of power.

Also our Can$ sucks so much right now, 980s are 700ish $ on newegg...

In any case i'll have to buy whatever i need from the US because this is getting ridiculous, Titan X is 1300$+taxes here (add 15%...) and 980 are 700ish + taxes.

I'll see when i plan my road trip, supposed florida end of june and somewhere else in October (not sure where) maybe Utah/Arizona again.

Wish i could have the shit tested first tho as if i buy a DOA card in store i'd be in deep trouble.

Now that's a road trip! You could try to find a computer shop in NY near the border to buy it, that way if the card is bad you dont have too long of a drive to take it back. If there is nothing near the border, there are 4 Microcenter's in NY.

Yeah i'll take the plane first tho, don't worry :)

I'll check what they have in Champlain, it's true that it'd be the easiest way, so whenever i go down to the East Coast i can always drive that way (it's bout 1h, 1.5h). Once i finally have the PR status it'll be quick enough to cross. Just have to avoid the Customs tho or they kick major ass in term of taxes !

Do you still get hit with taxes if you bought off of eBay or had someone fedex it?

We Canadians even get taxed for air that flows through our border from US :)
On serious note, we do pay insane fees for everything shipped from US.

that is just nuts... thought it might be a way to get around the tax if you had someone ship it directly to you instead of having to pay through the nose

Oh cool Erock, i might stop by then sometimes :)

Finally we'll go florida in the winter and we'll go down the coast to Washington this summer (Boston and down), maybe hop by Long Island :)

For the shipping to CAN, if it's shipped via FEDEX/UPS we are 100% dead, when it's via USPS, usually, it goes thru without trouble, same story for stuff that is sold in the US but not anymore in CAN (like DHEA).

I just picked up a 780 Ti (refurb) off of New Egg for under $350 and got the extended warranty, to try and upgrade if I need too.

Hey Haibane, AMD's CEO just said on a conference call that the new GPUs will be launching the 2nd half of this year. I know that doesnt mean much, being that we only have 2 more months left in the 1st half, but I take that to mean we should look for them at the beginning of Fall at the earliest.
