I think Mercsan's point was that if you donate to him you transfer the funds into his local hospital instead of scattering it between dozens, and I guess there's also the potential that he could put XoO's name behind the donations and turn it into a guild sponsorship.

Anyway guys, if there's one thing I've learned about Mercsan is that he's very swift to post ideas, so squeezing him for a piece of Plan Pie when it's still in the oven probably won't work.

Hehe Lev. WTB Lev in Warhammer, pst

Thats pretty much exactly what it is (what Lev said). Its so like, basically if (in theory) we raised like 10,000 Bucks. It would goto 1 place, instead of 200 dollars, going to 50 places.

If I wanted to scam people, id open a subscription phone service for cell phones, and ask people to use their phone to send a text then subscribe to my 12 month service at the price of 2 dollars per text sent.....wait....wtf.... *goes to the silent room while shifting eyes left and right to make sure nobody is looking*

Sid also plays WoW, noob. :p

Besides if you rationalize it that way, you're just sticking up for Tomy because you play WAR. ;)

The point is that Tommy is still relatively unknown to a lot of us just because we haven't crossed paths with him in game yet. You can't expect everyone to know his deal right away, or necessarily go out of their way to hang out in game channels they don't play just to meet him. ;) So yeah there are going to be some people wondering where he's coming form with this. It's not even about him personally. I'm sure if Sid was the one saying the same things Tommy is then people in other games would be just as sceptical.

I saw that you were being sarcastic about having respect for Tommy, since that's where you put the

In other words, l2make better jokes, noob. :D

And as we saw during the election campaigning, apparently things that were done by people that you know make you a bad person, at least according to some people. :p

    OK, BUT SERIOUSLY...

We are derailing a nice thread about a good charity (yes, I said "we"--I am just as guilty). So, we know the following things:

    1. There is a nice charity that people want to donate to.
    2. Tommy is excited and wants to help LOTS!
    3. There are people who don't know Tommy and the thought of donating through his page makes them nervous. It's not even personal, they just don't know...who is this guy? I bet most of the people in games I'm not currently active in would feel the same about me and I wouldn't blame them!

So how can we reconcile those things? Tommy would you be willing to work with some other people in the XoO community to organize this, so that people who don't know you (or who do know you, but maybe not someone else who would like to be involved) can feel more comfortable? Of course you could ALL scam us and run off with the money ;) but I think having a few people be accountable for it would go a long way to make people feel more comfortable donating via "XoO".

    Yes? No?

I don't mean necessarily using your personal PayPal account, but maybe setting something up specifically for this purpose.

Paypal doesnt exactly work like that, hehe. It has to be a physical person holding the account.

I'm not necessarily talking about PayPal being the only way. People were organizing stuff like this long before PayPal existed.

You mean donate directly to the charity on your own?

If that's the case, why use Tommy's site to keep the tally? Why not do it on the XoO forums?

Sure you can, you just monitor it a different way. Like, you know, have a main post that gets updated with totals as people donate?

    This isn't rocket science.

  18. No, but it is pretty obvious that he doesn't want anyone else to have access to the money, which isn't suspicious at all.

Mercsan, I'll donate $20 to your paypal account if you will voluntarily be banned from this website.

    Guys, stop this crap.

I'm not talking about donating to charities, thats all good, but honestly, this is just becoming incredibly stupid now. mercsan posted something that he didnt think of the 'sketchy' sounding portion of it. Posting anything else is really just counter-productive and turning into a pissing match.
