What Saff said, plus, the biggest gripe I have is the fact that MS tried to force their gaming/TV "vision" down my throat, whether I liked it or not. I don't care if they revert on those wild issues and become more mainstream, the damage has been done and I will never trust their consoles again. (I say this as a long time Xbox 1 and 360 user).
And with talk of possibly moving out of the game console space, and another interview today about stronger focus on improving PC gaming for Windows... makes you wonder if Microsoft knows how badly they screwed up the new console but doesnt want to kill their return by admitting it before release.
Im sorry someone needs to brush up on there facts. "To turn off your Xbox One, just say "Xbox Off." This puts Xbox One into standby mode where it's only listening for the voice command, "Xbox On." You can also turn off your Kinect through the system settings, or you can simply unplug it. Xbox One does not require a Kinect to be plugged in for the system to function." http://www.gamestop.com/collection/xbox-one-info Basically same set up Google has with alot of there new cell phones that people are buying....... Also cute you are one of those people that think they really care to spy on you..... psssst..... did you know your cell phone spying and selling your info right now or your mac/ PC is also. Now for the whats under the gaming hoods does not really matter since cross platform games you will hardly notice nothing..... only ones you will see something different is on exclusives. So are you in Japan right now? not sure how this is effecting you
Or Microsoft see's that the consoles are still dying and people wanna stay on the same path...... There sells are still crap and so are the game sells...... thats why game dev company's now nickle and dim us with DLC's
We already posted examples of the Xbone under performing to the PS4. And you just asked a community of gamers to IGNORE the hardware of a GAMING CONSOLE. At this point, no valid argument would ever sway you into the realms of reason.
Where did I say ignore? I was pointing out on MOST cross platform game you will not notice anything since the devs will take the lazy route and not utilize everything on both platforms and just wanna make it work..... this is why I said you will notice this difference on more exclusives . Also are those test done by the version we are getting or dev versions? And dont really care about Ghost since from what I heard has ALOT of bugs in it and shouldnt have been released at the state its in.........Also the only "examples" I saw so far (which I could have missed others) was you talking about Ghost being upscale to 1080p to keep 60FPS and E talking about how both Ps4 and X1 are built. One last thing you and many others are missing the bigger pitcher is that X1 one is not being marketed as ONLY as a gaming console like Sony Ps4 and never was. From day 1 it was marketed as a All in one console yes some ads iv seen do say all in one gaming console...... but MS trying to branch out to more then just gamers where as Sony is still targeting only gamers even tho they most likely are not. I do like the whole running my TV/ sat through my X1 since it will cut out rental fees and having more shit clutter my tv stand and I do like the whole Google voice activation gimmik. So like before its all about what you are looking for as in features and games not just pretty lights and shiny objects. FYI there frame rate issues with Ghost on the Ps4 from some things I just saw..... and from what people are saying Ghost is poorly optimized and done I think this site has quotes from other gamer review sites in it http://www.forbes.com/sites/davidth...ate-problems-with-call-of-duty-ghosts-on-ps4/
Only one reason anybody should ever need to not buy a Xbox one or any other product they can get away with and that is, that Microsoft thought it was ok to sell the early Xbox 360s with known hardware flaws and that they knew they caused bricking before they ever hit stores. Doesn't matter to me if they make the best console there will ever be that fact alone tells me to have as little as I possibly can to do with that company, ever.
And I know this but as many blogs or what ever pointed out most cross platform games you really wont notice anything different. Also from what other topics I saw X1 still is the faster multitasker then the the Ps4.... idk if this is still true or untrue
The only way that would be true is if the UI layout was easier to move around in. From a performance standpoint of the hardware itself there is no way the X1 will be a better multitasker. I really don't expect there to be too much difference in graphics, since it is the same hardware. I just think the internal rendering resolution will often be turned down a bit on the XBox One. In actual gameplay you wont really notice much of a difference because things are moving too much. Whether the PS4 will push higher FPS or not is still up in the air. It technically will, but if the resolution is higher then it will lose FPS due to needing to do more so the end result *may* be the same FPS on both systems.
Well from what I read so far the Ps4 layout is a bit meh but once you get use to its no issue really.... But from what MS and some other sites are saying that you can seamlessly switch between your game to apps to tv and back to your game easily and fast. Again not sure how true this is going to be till they do a test of the 2 doing the exact same thing side by side
neither right now, but when the xbone goes bellow $250 i will purchase it as a home system not really for gaming. just for the fact i fully drank the microsoft koolaid. three pc , icona tab, win8x phone, hacked my velosters in dash and updated to win 8 rt. so at some point i would want the xbone for the cable pass thru, and built in fantasy leagues, NHL and NFL. using voice and hand gestures to control uverse. all of that. but it isnt worth the cost now. as i am only a pc gamer.
the ps4 has a faster gfx card, and all evelopers have stated ps4 games are rendered in 1080p while all xbone is 720 that is upscaled. since both systems required dev to make sure 60fps 90% of time. i have a 8ft screen thru a 3dhd projector. i can see every shit pixel when it is 720. but for most under 50inche screens it will probbly not be an issue.
Dont waste your money on X1. If you do GTFO of XoO. It is a major fuck up and with the new guy they intend put up saying he wants to kill funding for Xbox and Bing it only adds to the pile of shit they created. Now if it fell off a truck or something >.> more power to you. I would go the PS4 route but I'd wait for a much larger line up of titles. So for now, neither.
x1 is ment to be like the new tvo, its a box to put between your cable/sat and your entertainment system. but microsoft is selling it as a gaming system. it basically makes dumb tvs into smart tvs for 25% of the price. so if you look at it as a smart box for your house entertainment system and it also plays next gen games then it makes it a much better buy over the ps4. which at the moment has ZERO mp3 or avi or xdna support. so no streaming your movies from your pc to tv like you can with ps3, but now with cina protections on pd3 its lame as shit.
now that i am thinking about it. just wait for the hacker/mod comunity to make a emulator for xbone and ps4 since it is 100% just a pc with a shell over it. i mean our pc's are 3x better then a xbone so even with us running windows we should still have more than enough power to run a xbone emu
The API's for coding games on the consoles are far lower than the graphics API's in Windows, which means much better resource usage and performance for the hardware. To do easy ports the PC the games are played on will also be required to run AMD hardware only, Intel and Nvidia will not be compatible at all because hUMA will be required, which is heterogeneous unified memory architecture. It means a single memory pool that is accessed directly by the CPU and GPU cores. On a PC up until now we have system RAM and graphics RAM. There is lots of latency and copying back and forth for communication, hUMA solves that issue. Only AMD's APUs from "Kaveri" and onwards have this feature. On top of that the API would need some translation and we will still have more overhead, unless the Mantle API is used which is somewhat similar but still different than the XBox One and PS4. Using Mantle along with hUMA instead of DirectX or OpenGL should give a somewhat close level of overhead, however there is still a lot of work to do to port things and emulate code. It is also important to note that you will also need a dedicated GPU that can support hUMA. Kaveri is AMD's newest processor that will be out on January 14th, but even it is not nearly as powerful as what is in the XBox or PS4. It has half as many cores, but much faster cores, and less GPU power too. It also uses DDR3 memory which is inadequate. Someone would need some DDR-3000 speed memory to run properly and almost match the XBox One. I havent looked, but the only GPU that might support hUMA would be the 290 series and maybe the 270's. 280 cards still use Tahiti cores and wont have hUMA, even with the new update to the 280 line coming in a couple weeks. EDIT: Looks like Nvidia just announced today that their new CUDA6 now features unified addressing. This means someone trying to emulate PS4 and X1 could also get it working on the new top of the line Nvidia cards.
