Alright everyone if you missed the community meeting we are going to start having monthly meetings for new games and select a game of the month for our members that are between games to get together and play. The format will be pretty simple. If you would like a game to be considered for either a new division or game of the month you need to post in this thread. You should also be prepared to talk about the game during the meeting. Game Title: What game is it. Key Dates: Any important dates like Betas and launch days. Game Description: Tell us what the game is about and why we should play it.
Game Title: Path of Exile Key Dates: Recently launched on steam (Oct 26th I think). Game Description: Path of Exile is a ARPG very much like Diablo II. It is everything that Diablo III should have been and wasn't. It is free to play. It does have a cash shop, but everything is cosmetic (weapon skins, alternate skill graphics), with the exception of more stash tabs. The skill system is VERY in-depth (think FFX sphere grid, but much more open). The game has both softcore and hardcore modes, and has different "leagues" for each that offer changes to gameplay (such as mode modifiers on rare mobs in HC). Unfortunately due to my work schedule, I will probably not be able to attend the meeting, but I will try. Check it out at http://www.pathofexile.com
Contagion Recently went into beta through kickstarter. Avaliable on steam. Zombie survival co-op akin to Left 4 Dead except it focuses more on survival and not random spawns and walls of flesh. Every mob that can spawn will at the start so they won't magically appear in huge numbers. Any survivor that gets killed turns into a zombie and can now prevent his friends from completing their objectives. I volunteer Kyoji to talk more about it.
How does that compare to No More Room In Hell, the FTP game that just came out and meets the same basic description?
Pretty sure NMRH has no pvp. This game is all about the pvp and counter pushes from your previous survivors now turned zombies.
I think Wildstar is going to take the cake when it comes to the list of MMOs releasing in the next year or so. Graphics aside it seems to be a pretty solid game all around and good at catering to both markets while maintaining each side happiness.
For GOTM - Borderlands 2 - GOTY edition got released in Oct so people that never played it can pick it up with all the downloaded content and older players can join in - Its basically a FPS RPG with alot of WTF comedic writing Also new games division -Wildstar
Star Citizen First part of the multiplayer alpha, the dogfighting module, should be up sometime next month. January at the latest. Next spring will see that expanded and by the end of next year the full game should be in alpha. I'll let Chris Roberts do that: I also nominate Q to talk about it I'll be at the meeting but I'll probably just be listening most of the time.
