Xen of Onslaught Alliance Information Please Note!: This is a temporary poll of what factions members are interested in. This is by no means a "This faction is what XoO is picking" poll. Ebonheart Pact Associated Color: Red Associated Emblem: Dragon Leader: Jorunn the Skald-King Races: Nord, Dark Elf, Argonian Aldmeri Dominion Associated Color: Yellow Associated Emblem: Eagle Leader: Queen Ayrenn Races: High Elf, Wood Elf, Khajit Daggerfall Covenant Associated Color: Blue Associated Emblem: Lion Leader: High King Emeric Races: Breton, Orcs, Redguards
I like Ebonheart Pact because it has a nice range of race types. Daggerfell Covenant does too, but I never liked Redguards or Bretons so Ebonheart gets my vote.
Ill try to look up some info later and see if I can find any polls or %s of what the public is thinking too. I've been leaning to Aldmeri just because I think it will be the underdog, but too soon to tell honestly. I'm not really a huge fan of any Daggerfall Cov races, but Ebonheart and Aldmeri I have a few choices I like.
Basically everyone wants to be Nord and Dunmer. There are also enough people who see AD as the underdog to the point that they are now the 2nd most popular faction. But I'm happy with either DC or AD, because neither will leave us stuck with EP.
They did a successful job of splitting the races in such a way that each faction will be sufficiently populated. Being a three faction game, much like PS2, we should have the ability to choose a faction purely based on what we want to play. Being the underdog in a three faction game doesn't create such a disparity as you would see in a two faction game, because the other faction will pick up any slack. You're not going to have the same problem with the faction choice such as the one that was made in TOR.
But in either case, guilds are supposedly cross-faction, so perhaps it's not that much of an issue which one people choose. I don't know how it will work in PvP though, if we'll be able to fight together or not. I can't find any information on that.
This is a myth, though typically playing in an unbalanced tri-faction game can easily be enough to shatter the illusion. The reliance on an enemy faction to do what is in your faction's best interest proves folly once they cease to be so cooperative/predictable. And there is also what happens to XoO in any PvP game where we pick an overpopulated faction and get stuck in a queue, we end up switching later anyway. We haven't been immune to it in tri-faction games and we know Cyrodiil will have a queue. There just isn't a point in holding off on it only to fragment ourselves later. I understand the optimism, but it really isn't worth it. I've fallen into that trap myself... recently... while in this gaming community... more than once. ook:
At the same time, how many of us have had to sit in vent listening to people bitch about not having enough greenies to push objectives. The general lesson is: A. Someone is always going to bitch due to a faction population being too low/high B. They aren't on the winning side The key lesson is that A and B don't fucking matter because we as a guild don't control it (B is slightly influenced thought). WE DO however get to pick our faction based on aesthetics preference and allies which is what should decide faction polls. PS2 went VS because XOO was VS in the past. Does it really matter in the game? Not really.
Told u the evil cat would be our CO... I'd go for Ebonheart as first choice as well, aldmeri second. Depending how crappy their elves look tho, because in skyrim without ethereal elven overheaul and in every TES since arena, elves look like shit. Now dark elves are badass.
Most races did not look pretty in the previous games without texture or character mods, but I will say the Argonian in the gameplay video looked bad ass. Big ole tail swaying while sneaking around. Based on the colors and backgrounds, Ebonheart feels like the "evil" faction, Daggerfall the "neutral" faction, and Aldmeri the "good" faction. We still have a long time for any type of launch date or hard beta info, so for now we will just see what pops up. And haibane, why am I evil? The cat part I do agree with though. :tehe:
It can cause bitching, but I'm talking about something that breaks our divisions and causes people to quit pretty frequently, not what simply causes bitching. You mean to tell me if we had rolled TR (the game's largest faction) and couldn't log into the maps we wanted, it wouldn't have been worse off for the longevity of the division?
My main in Skyrim is Khajiit mostly due to the racial bonuses. I have played other races in other games. I think my first toon in Morrowind was a redguard. I guess I don't care as much as long as I can play the way I want. I am leaning towards yellow eagle at the moment.
