If your day to day life involves takeout, motels and paperwork then yes. Taste is probably the least useful sense for people in general, but I rather give up my sense of smell over my sense of taste for personal preference. Anyway, it really depends who you are and what your lifestyle is. If you interact with people, scent is the most deeply rooted memory of someone you meet, scent also makes up a good 40% of the flavor of food so in losing your smell you lose half your sense of taste as well, once your sense of smell goes you tend to not realize things that need to be washed, including yourself, and eventually you loose all sense of it and you become one of those smelly old people on the bus. Not the ones with adult diapers (not that everyone around them doesn't realize they just took a piss), I just mean smelling like you have no sense of smell to point you in the right direction.
