This wasn't meant for a spam thread guys. It was meant to inquire about a new addition to the forums.

Yea I was wondering what the activity was based on because I thought mine and PDogs and Jebs would be a lot higher

I just figured out how to max out the today one it says to visit once and post 4 times a day, so the green is for visiting and the 4 yellow are for posts.

This is proof that even when I have work, I still spend too much of my free time on the site.

Longevity measures how long we've been in the forum since it's creation. It'll be less for newer members.

    Activity is self-explanitory.

Today, to me, looks like it tops out at only 4-5 posts. Only shows for online people.

if you mouseover the today bar it tells you that it caps out at 4 posts.. and only shows for yourself.

That's... wierd. No harm in showing other people you've made at least 4 posts in a day.

Also, I've been here for 92% of the board's creation :D

the reason it only shows yours is due to the load it will add to the server... It says with larger boards they recommend not turning on the option to see everyones "today" stats.

We may turn it on and see what happens though, but I pretty much got it installed for Dash and had to leave, so I dind't really get a chance to look at it much.

The activity rating I am pretty sure is based on a weeks worth of "today" stats...
So Spamming will not effect that if I am correct... once you have your 4 posts in for the day, anything else is pointless for it...

I am going to look into it more and I will make a post once I understand what it's looking at more.

Yea spamming it doesn't do anything, because you, me and Pdog are at the exact same thing, it seems that there is a max that you can have at any one time and once you hit that you have to wait, maybe a day, maybe a week. You might have to be with the forums for a certain amount of time to fill it up or maybe there is no possible way to fill it entirely. But I think to fill it up you just have to fill your today bar every day for however long and it will say that you are active and just keep it up, which should be pretty good because you should check the forum a lot and make a couple posts. I'm gonna guess that if you check every day you will get 20% post once 40% etc.

I am, for one, glad to see less of an emphasis on post counts and more for general board activity. I am already loving this new system compared to the old. Still has the potential for massive e-peen abuse but I think it is the best route in balancing several stats instead of one.

Yea for sure it give acknowledgment to people who check the forums everyday but don't post very often. And by having a make for the length of time you've been signed up new people won't pass people who have been around longer for new people look to see who has experience.
