Yes they stop production, however companies are still selling the copies they have left. Whether you can get away with having a 1.0 copy and still get into 2.0 I am unsure of. (BTW FFXIV is 1.0 ARR is 2.0) However everyone who has a 1.0 account will be able to download ARR for free like a massive patch. This is because FFXIV has gone subscription based for the past year to help fund the production of ARR.

They announced they are 2months behind when finding bugs they need to fix. They are trying to rerelease this game the proper way this time around.

You will have alot of catching up to do. Though know that your pug now becomes a Monk, and no Monk dish out 10 times more dmg than a Pug does.

I played this game through to almost the end I got all my classes to max... so if anyone has any questions on how the game works/ will work feel free to PM me or ask on here :p

Riot if XoO decides to make this game a thing Ill join ya. Also note that even though FFXIV is primarily a PvE game, SQEX has said they are working on adding a PvP system for it.

I'd like to learn a bit from you Owainn, like I've stated - FF11 was my first MMO and I miss that world very much.

I'm not sure if XoO will have a big enough following for this - but I will definitely be playing this somewhere.

Since I can't buy FF14 anymore, I just have to wait until ARR goes live and then I purchase ARR correct?

Correct. Sogetus to be honest, I think our following is large enough to start a division. Xen of Onslaught doesn't have to be about massive recruit/member numbers, and I honestly think at this point in the Community life that the amount of people who stick to a game and enjoy it is far more important than 50-60 playing for 1 month and quitting. If we could even get a membership base of 10-15 active members that would be great to see.

He is right, in FFXI and FFXIV things got done with a group of handful members who were focused on one goal. FFXIV is not like most generic games where you can easily solo and pug your way to the top. Hell the hardest boss "Garuda" was only beaten by 30-40% of the player base because it was so annoyingly hard and damn near impossible to pug. If you want to know anything just his me up on PMs sogetsu or u can just ask on here.

I bought FFXIV and didn't play it long. There just wasn't anything to do... Seeing that their going back to the old job system(Thank God) and adding a lot of new content is great. Anyone know if they're adding an Auction House or sticking to the terrible Retainer system? That was a huge issue for me... Not having an Auction House. I loved FFXI tho, and would love to see FFXIV succeed. I'm down to try it out again and play.... Whenever it comes out. :p

It was mine too, and I missed it right up to the point... Where they destroyed the game with the Abyssea content and Alliance Book Burns... :(

Sweet, hopefully they get around to making a Thief/Ninja/Samurai class and I'll definitely be playing for a long time. :p

First off... FUCK YEA THIEF! I was one in FFXI.

They added something unique. Instead of just adding an AH they still had the retainer system, but they added an NPC where you can "search and buy" items out of all the retainers from that city. Rather than having you hunt down the retainer and buy it from them. However ARR will have an AH and Mail system.

The new job system is not exactly as you'd expect. See you start as a basic job, MRD PUG GLAD etc... (only battle classes have this) and when you hit level 30 and 15 with another job, you can do a quest that will give u a spirit, depending on your job, that you can turn on and off at any given time. MRD get Warrior spirit, Pug > Monk , Glad > Paladin, etc.. this will change your stats and give you special skills that ONLY that class can use. There are specific type of gear that only can be worn if you have the spirit on.
Because wearing the spirit gives you access to really strong abilities, you are limited to to specific type of skills you can borrow from other classes. Like a THM turns into BLM, to become a BLM I have to be level 30 THM and level 15 Pug. As a THM I can borrow skills from any of the 8 jobs, but as a BLM Ill be granted some heavy hitting spells but will only be able to borrow from 2-3 jobs. In MOST cases wearing the spirit benefits you A LOT more than not wearing it. I do know some players who spent hours and money customizing certain gear with materia (another form of enchanting gear) that can pull more DPS wearing custom gear as a THM than a BLM. Which in this case for them turning off the BLM spirit benefits them.
In ARR they will be introducing the Archanist job which can get the Summoner spirit.
The stats and how they were for each class is not exactly all black and white. Every skill for every class is modify by a specific stat. In other words playing a Monk you would expect to put Str for dmg and Dex for crit/and or Agi for speed... but in fact Dex and Agi is useless to a Monk. Monks some of the Monks abilities are only affected by STR and some are only affected by INT. So understanding your job is takes a bit more than "oh this will give me crit dmg".

They also have been putting in new dungeons, instance bosses, and OW NM's, quests, jobs, etc patch by patch since the new team took over. (Yea, if you dont know. The team that released the game in the first place has been pulled from the project and a new team/leaders have been working on it. Hence the massive changes.)

    Riot FF14 Plan of Success:
    1. Become a Dragoon
    2. Jump on bitches, screaming “Imma Mario”
    3. Ride a Chocobo into the sunset

In all seriousness, going to be rolling a Dragoon asap. Have fallen in love with them in almost every iteration of FF.

Yea I read a lot about it, the job system and what events they were going to add. It seems to be good. I like the map recreation they're doing, A lot of maps just were to much of the same retread over and over again. It won't come out until next year, so I'll definitely check back and see what they added and followed through with.

Is it going to be a Pink Chocobo?

I heard a DRG doesn't have a Wyvern which I find to be a tad bit on the tarded side since it's a DRG...

Funny thing is that that goblin raped his face after he hit it. In FFXIV goblins are level 70-99, where as max level is 50. But I actually brought a level 80 goblin to half life using the agro reset mechanic before I hit a lag spike and got 1 shot to death LOL. Took me like 30 mins to get that far and wasnt about to try again. And sorry no wyverns for dragoons... yet. BUT we will have Male Mithras, and Female Galkas lol!

I will think about it... people are getting their whole accounts banned for breaking NDA. The Alpha accounts are linked to the Square Enix accounts which is obviously linked to my FFXIV account. They will basically ban everything associated with the main account.
