my windows 8 just blew out

    2 days of being on windows 8 after the upgrade saturday, and today BAM unable to boot, unable to repair boot......

    unable to refresh, unable to reset.....

    windows 8 doesnt set system restore points by default.....

    I am now reloading windows 8.....make sure you manually enable restore points people....

    Good call on manually setting restore points. I'll be doing that as soon as I get my damn copy of Windows 8 from Newegg.

    it turned out to be because of avast, AWS.dll, DO NOT USE AVAST WITH WINDOWS 8 AT THIS POINT IN TIME

    I upgraded my wife's laptop to Windows 8 and it has Avast on it. Avast recently released an update that makes it work on Windows 8. Not sure if that would fix your problem or not.

    Iam testing windows 8 because the laptops our costumers use, are only available in windows 8 editions.
    I have to say it scares me. I think for a tablet this is an awesome operating system. As a system administrator i find
    they should make a desktop version, with a start menu, and give me the old network centre with the option manage wireless networks.
    I dont see why i should upgrade my desktop or laptop with win 8
