Funny, and at least the sergeant has a sense of humor, but perhaps the matter should also be looked into more closely. Sure much of what goes on is by the books, but police in every country on earth have some police men who just like to go around and give people a hard time for no reason.

In those situations I usually try and be polite, but also make sure and get the police car's license plate number and name of the officer. Its fun when they get pulled off duty a few minutes later because I file an official complaint against them. After a few months they usually learn not to **** with me simply because I can afford a nicer car than them.

Some people aren't that materialistic however, If I knew you regularly threw complaints at my department I'd make sure you never ever had a headlamp out, and you used your turn single every single time you wanted to change lanes ;)

Im actually good friends with quite a few on the police for and SWAT, it is just the police who legitimately harass people because they feel the need to bully people who I make sure get a warning from above.

More helpful information from the New Zealand police

True. But in this case the response was to a forum post saying:
What further investigation could they do ?
