I think he has the 4s on, not sure, our base got the go-ahead to buy our own SWAT boots so I picked up a pair of those for comfort, I was using the 5s myself and they where pretty good. They issue gore-tex at the moment, got a pair of those as well.

No idea what oak boots are but the CF guy has mark 3s on. This is a reserve brigade group and the bulk of the units that make it up are from southern ontario. I only recognize the ASH CAN and a 31 service battalion guy. Look like there might have been a few zipperheads floating around.... GGHG possibly. Don't know any of the armoured reserve regiments.

The last few iterations of the combat boot issued by the CF have been utterly shit. You would think the people designing these things aren't even soldiers or they design them for service battalion or the chair force and try and issue the same thing to the infantry. My mark IIIs were far superior and more comfortable to the crap they issue now. I eventually switched to 511 HRT urban boot and wore that on duty.

lol that was good shit. You could tell the US guy was going to lose pretty fast cause his back strap was pulling him up and the CF guy has his on his torso.

his face was so red haha

    ^This
Loading mortars at -30c man, I've got buddies who have gotten frostbite multiple times.

Oakleys? Apparently CF gives a discount of a couple hundred off original price.

Lol, it's funny you mentioned GGHG... I used to be in it. Yes, it's a reserves armoured regiment. How did you know of it?

Actually - that guy was from Windsor. The southern most point of Ontario. That particular spot is almost as far south as the Oregon/California border by latitude. It certainly gets chilly there, but it's not to the extent that you might think.

If you scroll over the big purple province in the middle, you'll see what I mean. It dips quite far south... that's where Windsor is (basically across the street from Detroit)

    Which guy? The one pulling?

eeks and squeeks, the windsor regiment or a branch of the service battalion?

At one point or another I have been on the same exercise as them as well as GGFG. It would have been a long time ago though 6+ years.
