I would even contest that its a more a heavy culture, those dudes are tough, coarse, and like the honey badger, dont give a shit
Couldn't play it without breaking something. Maybe in Japan, but definitely not here. Even the small wingers are another 25kg heavier than I am, and a bit taller besides.
Played everywhere on a rugby pitch except centre , fly half & 2nd row (too short and cant kick). Definitely the best sport. American football they have to stop after every play, rugby you have to get back up and bash someone back down, all whilst wearing minimal protection.
me gusta! And yeah rugby is hard core. I played wing a lot because I can run when chased. And can take a hit and shrug it off. Ideal attributes, right!? And while I respect your thoughts on American football, but I'd have to disagree since Im a West Texas boy. I mean, I actually went to the school that Friday Night Lights was based on. I was there, I was even an extra in the movie. I've seen do or die football. Players that hit like hell because their future depends on it- and they were right. The problem -and I do mean problem- is it has gotten too hard. You stop between plays, and line up again to hit each other. It allows for players to wind up their bodies for BIG impacts. Takedown is the idea, and the biggest freight train get the jobs done. Rugby on the other hand, is faster and more agile. The goal is to get the player down and the ball free. Then, play is immediate. This means you dont have a bone crushing collision every play. Having seen and played both, I would never say football is for wimps. It isnt. Its for people who want to get hit. Football is unnecessarily hardcore, and Rugby is warfare!
< Cricket..longest sporting event ever. Can go on for 5 days. So whats were you saying about football?
