$450 is a great deal for that whole setup. I'd definitely buy it if I was building a new machine.

Plus it's from Sogetsu, so how can you go wrong?!

I could see how that might come off as sarcastic, but no I did mean it. Its a good setup and I am sure there are quite a few people around here who would really benefit from a good priced upgrade like this

Hey Sog, I dunno if you knew this but I'm taking donations right now. haha jk.

How did you get such a high OC? Did you have to raise voltage? What was your temp getting to on load?

3.8GHz is a slightly above average OC on that processor with "within spec" voltage. I have seen lots of people at 4GHz on them, usually to get up to 4GHz you raise the voltage to the upper end of "within spec" range and have better cooling.
Also says no hyper-threading. So thats a big factor as half the threads are disabled. This is fine for gaming though as HT causes low FPS in some games. Better to game with it disabled. The threads only become a significant factor if you are doing encoding.

What Enigma says is true. I'm only at 1.25 VCore (which is ... "default" on most chips) and only had to raise my VTT by +100 to keep everything stable. I've ran 20 LinX runs and 4 hours of Prime95 and never had any errors come up.

Most applications don't really benefit (or not enough) from Hyper threading so I have that turned off as it increases my temps on my CPU and VREG by a very noticeable amount.

OP; Would be willing to sell off ram and/or heatsink separately, but the mobo/cpu I'd like to sell as a "combo" - if interested in splitting up the parts and you want a particular one please PM me the part and we can haggle on a price.

Sogetsu, you'd be able to sell that all for $350 seeing that its all used.

Dude... thats the second price cockblock Ive seen you throw down on this forum in less than five minutes. If you are interested in it, PM him your best offer. Dont just put him on blast and lowball the best bid he'll see by a hundred bucks for no reason.

    And I disagree.
