You could also try posting this in the tech section, or a thread with a link to this one. A few of us sell our old parts in that subforum and it fits there a bit better. Might get more attention from people looking at computer related stuff GLWS
good luck with sale ... I kinda agree with tommy on this one ... its a mid range gaming rig now but it will play most games out ok
Well the motherboard is a EVGA board can't remember the model and I am willing to work with price that was just a rough. I would go down to 1k if someone offered it.
just trying too help ya out here but i can get a machine built for 1050 with i5 2500k 8gb ram evga 570 1tb hard etc etc ... so you might be over pricing by a bit even at 1k
1k is still high. Your best bet would be to sell it for around 700 range. You can get a built system from CyberPower i5-2500, 8gigs of ram, 2gb GTX 560, and a Physix GT 520 1gb card for about 750. Thats brand new too.
Well I think 1k might be the max....... Also why compare a i7 to a i5 =3 unless the i5 your comparing is better then the i7 he has
i5 2500k blows out a 920 ... i had the i7 860 and upgraded to an i5 2500k ... my 860 was a smidge slower then a 920 mostly because of trip chan memory at the time an i5 2500k is the most cost effective intel out right now ... anything more is a waste of money IMO ... untill games start using more then 4 cores then just nab the i5 2500k and OC the crap outta it im just trying to be helpful and make sure he gets a good price and someone in the community gets a good machine for a good price
So your saying I spent to much on the Intel Core i7-3960X Processor Extreme Edition (15M Cache, 3.30 GHz) =3
http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/system/CyberPower_X79_Configurator/ Intel® Core™ i7-3820 Quad-Core 3.60 GHz 10MB Intel Smart Cache LGA2011 8GB (2GBx4) DDR3/1600MHz Quad Channel Memory Kingston Hyper X AMD Radeon HD 6770 1GB GDDR5 16X PCIe Video Card $1024 and that is comparibly a much better system. Brand new
What could you offer on it? I am willing to drop a bit just to get this thing off my hands. I need the money for something else for my family and right now I have another rig I play games on so this is just sitting and not being used. I am willing to drop the price if you can make another acceptable offer.
just blanket stating that "core i7 is always faster than i5" is false. In your case, your brand new processor is about 15-20% faster than a 2500k, I I recall correctly. Erock claimed 2500k best value for money. I'd have to agree with him. His processor choice cost 210.00 now. Yours costs 1050.00 at the same retailer. PS 1050/210 = 5.0x price tag: for roughly 20% improvement out of box. Oh, and his other comment about the ability to OC the 2500k is also very correct. Hope you like your processor. This thread really should be in Tech Talk.
if you have the money twi by all means go for it and buy the CPU ... just as far as cost effective goes and what increase your really gonna see GAMING is not much ... for other stuff such as rendering videos and 3d models youll win Jarien I could see someone paying say 700ish for the machine if you wanna get it out of your hands quick ... Try Craigslist as well m8
I could post the specs if need be, but I was able to build a computer with a 6 core 3.0 ghz intel chip set, 12 gigs of ddr 3 1800 ram, 1 tb hard drive, and radeon hd 7950 3 gig video memory, for around 1400 with a monitor. So id say you should probably drop your price by ... ohhhh like 500 bucks, as this is a brand new system, while yours has probably seen alot of use.
