Source I added in a note if you want to skip the 15+ paragraphs about Red Tails No more movies with Jar Jar fucking Binks. Fuck yes.
the last "Lucas" star wars film. never say never. But yea..Star Wars..I will not miss it. Make another Lexx movie instead.
I hope Red Tails does well, it would be a better legacy than some of his other stuff, definitely. Can you imagine being remembered for Howard the Duck? Ugh. No reason to hate on star wars though Bob, if you don't like it, just don't watch it. I don't watch it either and it's worked well so far I used to be a big fan of star wars when I was a teenager, then one day everything just "clicked" and I realized they weren't very good movies. I still have some fond nostalgia for them but I don't think you'll be able to get me to sit down and watch a whole movie without audibly hearing my eyeballs rolling around in my head. It's kind of sad because I grew up with star wars, Return of the Jedi was huge when I was a kid and all the kids wanted to play lightsaber battles on the playground or whatever. I remember this one kid had a brown coat with a furry collar and he always got stuck being Chewbacca. It reminds me a lot of being a kid.
I still enjoy the original 3. I even enjoy the cartoon that came out when I watch it with my little cousins. The new movies are trash. Lucas has the subtlety of a drum set in an apartment complex. I expect the redubs of Episode 3 to have ANAKIN FEELS PAIN IN THIS SCENE in big letters across the screen at the big noooooo scene.
I'm one of the only people that liked Anakin. He reminded me a lot of myself, which I won't go into detail. He made up for the "crying" by having guts and fighting for what he believed, to the death. He was bad ass, in my book. His transformation from innocent to jedi, to the dark side was sad in an emotional kind of way. Also, Hayden is from my town (literally lived in my neighborhood) so I'm a bit biased towards him.
I can all most guarantee you that as soon as George Lucas gives up the veto power or dies there will be Star Wars movies every two years. They've also been just begging to make a young Jedi TV series for years but he has been saying no to that ever since the book series started.
heh. exactly my thought. he just needs a good ass pounding to his bank account like another divorce and he'l be bid the camera in no time.
I never wanted an end to the Star Wars films, just for Lucas to not write/direct/produce them anymore. I'm hoping this means my dreams will come true and the film, TV and gaming aspects of the franchise can move forward like the books did.
It wouldn't surprise me if it's just a ruse, dependant on the success of the 3D re-releases coming up. Those urk me some. 3D film tech is shit right now.
Lol same. I'd love to see what a Christopher Nolan, or Darren Aronofsky can do with a Star Wars title. A directer that would invision a dark, twisted outlook on the series. Personally, I could never get over the cheese factor dialogue and all the smiling and happiness. If you put it into perspective all of these fuckers are at war and fighting everyday for their life. Even the Jedi would be some demented, seriously fucked up dudes. They would have to be. I want to walk out of Star Wars movie going.. "Holy shit, that was rugged."
A Nolan SW based around the Prequel era when Ani turns, that would be amazing, but I doubt that before he croaks Lucas will let anyone play with his work, in a cinematic sense.
Id love to see one of them either do the in between parts of the original trilogy or the Yuuzhan Vong series, but that would probably be way to large for movies. But ya, I just dont really want George Lucas doing any more stuff not an end to all Star Wars movies. Get some great directors in there and things will be great Time to do some planning then...
