Absolutely no disrepsect to Triggerpappy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S4qmrZEF-rE&feature=channel_video_title I find these cheeky gits to be quite funny.
They sent out the first wave of invites for the Closed Beta yesterday afternoon. Anyone got in so I can concentrate all my hatred toward them?
No key yet. Was thinking of installing Diablo II LoD back on my PC, but I think I might just wait for beta since betas now a days are just like previews.
Whats happening with O and A ? Howard stinks .... Diablo3 yay.... another fantasy grind .... me wants some SciFi
Haven't had much time to listen to O and A since I sold my radio, but since I am in management now, I have more "free time" to listen.. lol I will find out though and let you know. Still waiting for a beta invite though lol
Actually got a beta invite yesterday. Did an initial playthrough with a Monk, taking my sweet time with it though (something like 3 hours, cleared everything out, got it to level 9 in the process). Not a lot of concerns with it at this point though it's not really enough of the game to judge just how well that holds or what the replayability will be like. The fixed camera angle is feeling a bit weird in 2011, though, but you get over that. Art style, keeping in mind I was playing with low settings because my actual GPU is on RMA until probably tomorrow, worked quite a bit better than it might have seemed at first - the part of Act 1 I got to see was fairly dreary, a bit like one of those gothic horror settings or the first act of Diablo 2, I guess. The detail isn't amazing but they've kind of excused their way out of that by making it look like a watercolor painting (it's not really cartoony at all, thankfully). And it plays pretty nicely. Monk skills felt pretty, uh, "crunchy"... there was plenty of damage being done, monsters were not taking forever to kill or anything - as a whole it got the pacing right, which is something the likes of TQ kind of dropped the ball on. Again, that's pretty early game and it wasn't hard to get to the point I felt kind of overpowered - even bosses weren't much of a threat since I could spam self-heals faster than they would do damage, and regenerated spirit faster than those self-heals needed to consume it. That ... is probably not a warning sign though, since Diablo 2 on Normal wasn't really crazy in Act 1 either, until you hit Andariel (and maybe The Smith if you weren't prepared). I figure there's plenty of room left in the game for the bosses you need to kite to survive. While I'm not as excited about this game as GW2 any more, the beta gives me reason to view it positively... it's kind of like the ultimate version of Diablo 2 in many ways - essentially the same game, just tweaked and de-annoyanced - and I can see myself continuing to play it in between other things for many years to come. I do kind of miss the druid, but not that much else. For necromancer fans, there was that too - the witch doctor has trouble conjuring the same kind of appeal.
