That court/prison system sounds like an interesting concept, but I can't see it going over well. I'm guessing it's to deter ganking, but seems rather unnecessary when you can just have PvP/PvE server rulesets.
well might be for areas like towns or ganking low lvls or maybe areas that out law PvP if it has a gov system like Tera
The devs are creating it with markets outside Korea in mind, but it only has publishers lined up for Korea and China at the moment.
I don't know about that. The dev studio, XLGames, already has a partnership with a publisher from the U.S., Take-Two Interactive, for whom they're going to develop another MMO for the Asian market. I'm almost certain by the time the game launches in Korea, or perhaps a little later in China, they'll have a publisher for N. America lined up. What I'm curious about is whether or not they'll make sweeping gameplay changes for majorly-English markets.
The general plan of release for this is to release it unfinished in Korea and China then with a paying populace playing it to continue to work on it heavily while they head to a more polished US release. They said they realize Americans are much bitchier(not their exact words) when it comes to game launches so they want it as polished as possible but not past it's prime. So yay to korea for eating a paid beta so we don't have to.
I agree with the fact that releasing in NA is scary, hence why Tera is beating it around the bush for how long.
