All Android devices are now in violation of Apple's new patent. Including password unlock screens. http://hothardware.com/News/Apple-P...Feature-All-Android-Devices-Now-In-Violation/ Patent excerpt: and a great response to this I saw someone post:
If companies can patent a generically engineered seed, and then therefore own any field and crop it happens to germinate in, why can't apple patent the process of moving your finger on a touch display? <.< /sarcasm In all seriousness. Some patents are just going way to far.
Do we really need more proof that Apple and Steve Jobs were almost mad scientist levels of asshole? And of course this never stops being funny.
To be fair, other companies are stealing their ideas. Let's put things in perspective. Do you think that today, we'd have Androids and other smartphones if Apple never pooled resources into R&D to develop the iPhone? I doubt it. The same can be said about the tablet market, which wouldn't exist AT ALL until Apple showed everyone how the tablet market works. Tablets existed before the iPad, it's just that no one cared for them. And let's not forget MP3 players, which were hardly popular until the iPod came along. Apple works hard to innovate and puts a lot on the line so that the consumer technology world could progress. Without Apple, I feel we would be living in a technologically stale market. Other companies are capable of doing what Apple does - innovating - they just refuse to do that, because it carries with it a huge risk. Why should Apple be the one to carry the torch and light the way, at their own expense? It's totally unfair. Note, that this is a totally unbiased and objective view of the matter. I'm in no way an Apple fanboy... I've never owned a mac, and probably won't. LMAO! xD
You just described the story of technology. One person innovates the next person iterates sometimes it gets pretty hard to tell who is doing what though and the U.S. new first to file patent rule just made it way harder for U.S companies to figure out which is which. I was going to try and patent the wheel and the democratic republic form of government just see what would happen but I'm far too lazy for that kind of work. If anybody isn't as lazy as me I claim halfsies. :bigeyes:unch: ps: don't forget fire......
Actually we had smartphones before Apple and it was a pretty decent market. Several kinds. Apple also took many many many ideas for the iPhone from Palm and Blackberry, so by your own admission Apple is lazy. You say certain technologies wouldn't exist without people stealing Apple's ideas? I remind you that Apple wouldn't exist without stealing other people's ideas. Also way to reveal yourself as an Apple fanboi ^_^
