RIP Andy Whitfield aka 'Spartacus'

    Sad to see someone die of cancer at such a young age :(. I enjoyed watching Spartacus (the first season), the second season just wasnt the same without him. I wonder what that means for the series now with the main character gone.

    It's hard to believe that guy died from cancer, he was in such obviously good condition. Is that why Season 2 went back in time rather than forward? Seemed like there should have been more for the protagonist. Too bad Netflix bumped it off, I was keeping up with the 1st and 2nd season until after that.

    It wasn't technically Season 2. It wasn't even called Spartacus: Blood and Sand. It was called Gods of the Arena and it was intended to be a shorter prequel series.

    Season 2 is being worked on as we speak and will feature some new guy who kinda resembles Andy.
