Oh, I read the book like 5 times, but I'm not sure if that spoiler is for the movie, or the storyline.

The movie is completely different from the books. Seriously... similar outcomes but very different ways of getting there.

It's still a fantastic movie... though the Gringotts scene was realllllllly rushed.

And not enough back story for Neville in Part 1 and 2. Can't blame them though, they would have needed at least 4 movies to cover everything. But then again the movies are around 2 hours, not sure why they didn't pull a 2h45 or 3 hour movie like LOTRO.

Oh well, still an awesome movie. ;)

It was split in to two parts. Two parts of the same movie. :p Making it roughly 4.5 hours.

I assumed he meant 2 movies at 3 hours each for 6 hours total.

Indeed I meant 6 hours. I'll use spoilers for the rest, just in case.

They hardly covered any of the fighting and none of the resistance led by Neuville in the school. Heck my brother has seen all movies, but none of the books and he could barely remember who Neuville was and yet he's supposed to be a major character in the last book. The only fight they actually cover is Molly vs Bellatrix. The entire battle is missing, you see glimpses as they follow Harry but that's it. I feel like the Battle should have been the focus of Part 2, not the horcruxes. And the whole "Harry is alive" moment was so anti climatic, falling from Hagrid's arms instead of showing up to cast a Shield and save Molly/Ginny from Voldemort.

So yeah adding at least another hour to cover maybe 20 minutes of what Neuville and the others did at the school while Harry was hunting Horcruxes. And maybe 40 minutes for the actualy Battle. Would have been great, and it's not like they didn't have the budget. ;)

LOTRO? :D The last character makes that the MMO...

Anyway! I'm one of those people who saw (most of) the movies but never read the books... you may hate me if you wish.

I dunno, for a movie, I think it was perfect. Except, yes...I'd rather the way Harry comes back to life in the book. THAT was fun. =P Although, I did like how they put in where Harry smiles at Neville's speech. =P

But, the more I think about it, the problem with the movies was that the books weren't even finished by the time they started, so key elements like Neville and the whole Lily/Snape tryst were lost in translation...and other small
things that make you go "huh?" unless you read the books =/
