Yeah, that's pretty shameful isn't it. I get the feeling that they don't even care about playing well at all. They just keep fanning the puck and shooting wide. I think they've probably seen a net before, but you couldn't tell from watching this game, that's for sure.
If they do, which they won't, it'll just be sheer coincidence. If the Canucks were holding back, which is a stupid gamble, they'd have more than 7 goals in 6 games in the Stanley Cup final. They would have won their games by more than one lucky goal by a 4th liner.
It's the match-ups. The Canucks have difficulty getting through the Bruins' defence, but they can do it - that part has been consistent all series. What hasn't is how many they let in; the home games, their defence has been near air-tight (and it's had to be) - the away games have been embarrassing. I totally agree that there's no way they're holding back, though. You don't throw a game when there's no guarantee you'll win the next one. As NSman says, we'll see on Wednesday - the Canucks are favoured if the win-at-home pattern both teams have had continues, but no pattern lasts forever. Whatever happens though - no riots, please. The Bruins may have to make getaway plans just in case.
Anaheim is the last team to defend home turf successfully 4 times in a 7 game series, that was in 2004. Math is in the favor of the bruins... Plus they are freaking awwwsuum and the Cancuks are reeetaards Go B's Gru
Boston has scored 2 goals in 3 games at Vancouver. Vancouver has played like shit in Boston. Home teams have won every single game. Last change and getting the match up you want matters. So don't say Boston is awesome, a win is a win. If you want to say something to be convincing about Boston being better, at least make some sense. Yes they have been better at home mainly because they out played Vancouver with their physical play but this series isn't played entirely in Boston. Boston has look like little girls in Vancouver. The ONLY reason you can even argue you HAD a chance to win in every game is just because of Thomas but the outcome is that the Winner won the game. Every win in this series, the winner deserved to win. Tomorrow is Game 7 in Vancouver, Game 6 Luongo stunk but so did Thomas, he was not playing very well, if you actually watch and understand the game then you know what I'm talking about. Game 7 winner will deserve the cup, no matter who wins. And seriously, Boston fans calling Raymond a pussy when he was down? Chanting Go Bruins Go when a player was lying on his face? I never disliked Boston until yesterday. The guy is gone for 6 months btw with fracture vertabrae, unlike a certain Severe Concussion person that was able to start walking around Boston two days after his 'Severe Concussion'.
or how about bitting another players finger? both teams have done some stupid stuff ... but this hit was not deliberate and you cant fault the fans ... the canucks fans are just as bad If your an islanders fan like me you understand what it means to suck as a team and with all the drama going on to keep the team here ... but im an overal hockey fan for sure and just love watching any game i can get ... i work at a hockey ... i been playing my whole life its just in me to watch hockey I was routing for the canucks because my fav player was Bure and i play 100% how he did ... then the hit on horton which I think was not intentional to injure but was def a blatant hit to the head thus i wanted boston to win(plus my district manager is from boston so we get a party if they win) My buddy knows the head of Tech Operations and went too the game last night and drove home to be at work at 7 am and he is a rangers fan ... so yeah i would just love to see it go into OT and so long as the game is fast hard hitting and back and fourth im fine with whoever wins right now
I agree, I'm not going to treat it like a tragedy if Boston wins. I do think they've played dirty to get here, but the Canucks have as well - at least in this series - somehow it's bringing out the worst in both teams. They're still one of the more deserving teams in the league IMHO (37 years without a championship? They seem much too good for that - more so Vancouver at 40 or so though), and better them than any of the other top four teams in the East. I'd have taken a Montreal-Vancouver final any day of the week though, even though Canadiens fans might actually be even more infamous than Bruins fans... Montreal just hasn't had what it takes to get this far in recent years, though. Ironically, even if the Canucks do win tomorrow, the nay-sayers will probably just switch tacks from "but they've never won a Cup" to "they didn't deserve the one they did win". Sure, the GF/GA is heavily against their favour in this series, but it doesn't reflect how well each team played in each game. They might have conceded a lot of goals while playing poorly, but they were playing better than the Bruins around half the time... if not for the Four Minutes From Hell, Boston would actually have lost their last game! I figure game 7 will be about consistency. The Bruins (or should I say a certain fellow called "Tim Thomas") are very good at defense in this series; the Canucks have shown they can match or exceed that (though more due to d-men than the goalie), but not as reliably. They'll need to be performing the whole game, because if you let Boston in even a little bit, it's going to be damn hard to claw that lead back. There is one other thing that could happen though - I noticed a lot more tough-to-stop plays coming from the Canucks last game, but they kept fumbling on the shots. If they started to click, they might finally have the "solution" to Tim Thomas.
yeah happy for anyone to hoist it ... but boy is stock def dropped even thou he won the cup he didnt do squat in boston TBH
