and it should ... detroit is a much better team then the sharks IMO

who knows maybe detroit will be in the east next year and lidstrom will stay ... too bad my isles have a few more years of development before they can have some good season :)

Disagreed. They have been playing sloppy throughout the playoffs. There is no way they should have won game 6 judging by the gameplay throughout (those were some of the ugliest goals I've ever seen). With the exception of the last game, I think the sharks outshot the red wings significantly in every game, with more scoring opportunities, relying very heavily on Howard to bail their asses out (almost to the same extent as the Preds and Rinne)

yea but san jose are notorious choke artists. and \"gutless", according to the mouth, Jeremy Roenick. (sp?). San jose has outplayed detroit for large portions of the series, but have had some attrocious moments, on defense especially. Niemi has surprised me this year, thought he would fall off after last season. Would like to see Detroit win just because coming back from 3 down has only happened a handfull of times, plus it would be funny to see san jose choke yet again. Either way, Boston VAN FINAL!!!

In my opinion, San Jose did not out play Detroit in the series, it was Detroit playing like they weren't in the series to begin with. Marleau, Heatley have been MIA and Big Joe really hasn't done much. Those Setoguchi goals were more a result of bad defensive play by the Wings and Howard being out of position and just plain bad.... When the Wings started to turn it on, actually, when Datsyuk decided that one arm was enough to beat the Sharks, the series completely turned around. Game 7 is the Choke Artists Vs. Old Gray Vets. If I was a betting man, I bet those Old Gray guys pull out the 4th time ever a series is won coming from a 3-0 deficeit. Its Detroit, they have what it takes to takes this.

How is a sweep in the first series sloppy? Game 6 against the Sharks was one of the greatest games of hockey I've ever seen. Detroit had double the shots on goal than the Sharks. The first two games were terrible, but to say they have been playing sloppy throughout the playoffs is completely inaccurate.

    I completely agree with this.

But the future would not change...

Next series should be good though. Wonder how much longer the Canucks can hang in there. Haven't exactly had an easy time of it.

Of all the teams that could have made it all the way... and to think with some luck it would be Montreal there instead. Oh well, the Lightning is going to win anyway ;)

Sharks vs Tampa Bay would be awesome.

I'm not just rooting for a random team. I've liked the Bruins since I was 7 years old. They're my second favourite team, and with Kaberle in there, it makes it even better. :)

In other news, Derek Boogaard was found dead in his apartment last night. RIP dude :(
