Does anyone disagree that Christopher Eccleston was the greatest Dr. Who ever ? All i know is I despise Dr. Who aside from the period that he was the actor playing the Time Lord.
I happen to enjoy the newest Dr. I have only had the chance to see the last 3 Drs and Matt Smith does a pretty solid job from what I see. They all bring their own twist to the role with something similar at the same time.
Tom Baker was the best, he crossed the most enemies in the book, the episodes were ahead of their time in special fx, and the costumes ruled for the time period. Not to mention he held the title of Dr Who the longest at 7 years. Gru
Agreed. I used to watch the 4th Doctor on PBS for years. After Tom Baker, my favorite is probably Tennant. I just can't get used to Matt Smith yet. Hopefully series 6 will improve my outlook.
by despising all the other Dr Who..imo.. that disqualifies you as judge on Dr Who. Tom Baker was my fav
TENNANT AND BAKER!! I really, really miss Tennant.. And this new guy Matt, isn't making me too ambitious to go ahead and "obtain" the newest episodes. HUGE Who Fan here. =P
I am a little interested in the series. Is there a particular season I should start watching to get into it?
So i should look into the portion with Tom Baker huh ? seems that was mentioned often. I dont really not like the newest one.. just really couldnt get into it.. Christopher Eccleston dominated the series while he was the Dr. Really amazing actor.
Tom Baker is pretty much the definitive Doctor for most people who saw the series before it was rebooted with Eccleston. He was the Doctor for 7ish years, so there is a lot out there that features him. If you can only catch a few episodes, I recommend Genesis of the Daleks and maybe the Pyramids of Mars.
Doctor Who is a great sci-fi show, and is probably the inspiration for a lot of the sci-fi that followed. If you get into it, I recommend starting out with the reboot of the series with Eccleston. It frames the narrative in such a way, that new people won't be too lost (the show has been on since the 1960s). Netflix has the first 4 seasons of the new series available for streaming. Most of the show has a fairly light-hearted tone to it since it was originally aimed at children. It can be dark at times or downright creepy (I am looking at you, damned weeping angles), but it is a fun series.
Eccleston doesn't get enough love. Baker was my favorite, but Eccleston is #2 overall for me, #1 for the rebooted Dr. Who series.
It's Doctor. DOCTOR. And Tom Baker is my favorite Doctor thus far. EDIT: Refer to my signature: he is the most recent Doctor.
The only ones I ever saw (that I can recall) were the Jon Pertwee ones I saw as a kid I didn't know which one he was, I just looked up his name just now. I probably saw some Tom Baker ones too, but Pertwee's face stands out in my mind for whatever reason.
he was HOTs......but the newest dr.who is fuggly as hell and looks like he mutated from something with his over size head Heres ur new Dr.Who =P
