All i have to say is damn, fuck the 3D part I want to see this in Sony Digital 4k just because its probably the only format that even comes close to giving this movie the glory clarity that it needs with those cameras HOT DAMN!

Yeah I will have to say that they are investing a shit ton of cash into this. Granted this isn't going to make the movie great but the bigger the budget the better the production quality.

The Hobbit was the best of the books imo, hopefully it turns out to be the best movie as well. I highly doubt that they will be able to cram the entire book into one movie successfully.

Yup, The Hobbit is being split into 2 films of roughly 3 hours each as there is so much detail that needs to be included. :) 1 film wouldn't do the story justice.

They are adding several characters that are not involved in the original book into the movie. Examples: Galadriel and Legolas. Do you guys think that is a good or bad decision? I would have preferred that they stuck to the original story, but who knows how it will turn out.

It depends how they are used, I am sure Galadriel and Legolas were doing stuff somewhere during the course of The Hobbit. Somehow I feel like they will be interacting with the main characters and they shouldn't... only time will tell I guess.
