I really dont understand how this got in under my radar. But damn fuck WOW..the miracle of science. Im going to get me one and start on this we wont see this anytime soon..there is no money in cures..only medicene that keeps you alive..and paying. http://www.iol.co.za/scitech/science/news/computer-print-me-a-kidney-1.1035985 http://www.popsci.com/science/artic...er-prints-replacement-kidney-onstage-ted-2011 http://www.popsci.com/science/artic...er-prints-replacement-kidney-onstage-ted-2011 http://www.popsci.com/science/artic...er-prints-replacement-kidney-onstage-ted-2011
Wow, o.k don't know what to say about that. Part of me is going...errr, no, you can't print body organs. lol
-From one of the links Correction: An earlier version of this post cited coverage by the Agence France-Presse newswire, among other sources, which incorrectly reported that Massella had received a printed kidney 10 years ago and that Atala printed a functional kidney onstage. In fact, Massella received a re-engineered bladder, and Atala printed a dummy kidney mold to demonstrate how the technique could provide transplantable organs someday. That's why it doesn't compute. Seems like those french papers are awesome at correctly reporting the news :/
i knew there was something going on lol, damn those bastards......its the fricken pass the news around the circle and see how accurate it is when it gets back to the source.
I saw in the new Zeitghist movie that they said they could "print" buildings into existence already if they wanted to, the technology already exist today but I had no idea that they could "print" human organs too, thats just crazy.
They can't. It's not possible right now afaik. There are a lot of factors to take into account. You can't just print cytosol.... as one example. Cell constituents are a little more complex than anything a printer could spew out.
My computer science teacher showed us this, they are making simple organs, like bladders and veins. They have even made a two chambered heart and are working on more complex organs. Pretty cool stuff.
