TERA Online ApplicationHow old are you? 23 In-Game Name? Aegis Do you have Teamspeak 3 and a mic? Yes What is your primary class? Mystic Why did you choose XoO: I chose XoO because it was a legion that I am very familiar with from many of my other games that I have played, the latest one being Aion online. Although we may have played on different servers I had always known about XoO and held them with respect and admiration and as a moral standard. More TERA related I suppose...: I have seen many members of XoO active on the boards and I found them exceedingly helpful, friendly and like people I would be happy to get to know (Eg: Yokomonster). I also have a strong drive to be a part of a well established community of mature individuals who share the same interests and experainces as I do. I honestly thing I would go crazy if I was in the same legion as this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kwql6_RJ348 Or this, especially this... I would go insane. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=flOflsZ9eK0&feature=related I am also a very hardcore gamer, despite having many activities that I participate in on a daily basis. I love PvP and it is awesome :3 not much more I can say to that as this legion no-doubt shares the same feelings I do about it. Sheer awesomeness. Previous Gaming Experience: Too much. xD Console: Everything from Final Fantasy series, Jetforce Gemini, Mario Party, Call of Duty 4 and modernwarfare 2 (I achieved "Gold Cross" prestige in 4). Ummm... since this is a FPS style mmo my Kill-to-death ratio on COD 4 was 6-1 and then on MW2 I had one of 11-1 k2d. I've played crysis, fallout, soul calibur... too many to list hahah! I suppose the major part about "console" familiarality is that I am very familiar with targetting systems in games and excel at them (or at least like to think I do!). MMO's: -Runescape <-- Yes, the dreaded runescape. For here I was a pivitol member for the guild "TDS" Or The Death Squad... was a very nice tight-knit community and it honestly started my passion for guilds and community effort. -Conquer Online 2.0 <-- similar to TERA in the fact that one could jump and dodge and aiming required skill. One of my favourite mmo's of the past to refer TERA towards. -WoW: Something I am definately not thrilled about letting everyone know but I admit on here to have played wow a while ago as a warlock... and I won quite a few BG's before I quit and HAPPILY never looked back. -Silkroad: Enjoyed this game and I actually liked the grindy parts of it... allowed one to define themselves properly from others in my opinion. -Perfect World: I played an archer here and it was okay. I played this for 6-7 months and it was a good game but I never really felt it. -2moons (Dekaron): This was a game in which I played a vicious summoner (staff) and really enjoyed it. I had played the Dekaron version (Korean) of it and didn't even move to NA sadly... I actually had plans to move -RF online: My single favourite MMO when it came to strategy and teamwork. I played many different classes from Accretian striker to bellato holy chandra.... but the main race that stuck was Cora... I loved their summoning class and so I rolled a ranger->summoner->dark priest. This was fun for me as it combined the powerful evasionary skills of the ranger class with the brutal stunning power of the optional gun weapon and hecate. If only I could have my old character back I wouldn't think twice of playing this game until TERA was released here officially in North America. -L2 Necromancer. Loved every second of it <3 -Aion: This was my last mmo that I had taken very seriously... and I'll go into the MOST detail here for that. I had followed this game 2 years before it was even released very slowly and closely on www.aionsource.com. I had initially collected the most hardcore MMO players that I had found on various games to come with me to this game that they shared interest in... and we formed a legion of 7 people called "The Awakening". This legion exceeded all predetermined expecations as a "small hardcore" tight-knit group of people as we held the #1 spot on Yustiel from when it started to a fair way into the game. We were finally beaten by the legion "Nexus" led by Freebird... this was because our 7 man team could not pump out the same amount of AP as a 70+ man legion. I have to say that this was my first time taking a leadership role and I had been extensively proud of myself for it. Sadly though we eventually lost our members due to Aion's flaws at the start such as "not enough PvP" when we began hitting 50 as the first 50's... eventually the legion had to break. We chose to go TOO small and too hardcore, in Aion this led to our inevitable breakdown. By this time I had already attempted HHOM 2 times. Something most people had just began to grind for. At this point I took the responsibility onto myself and fused my legion with Nexus (The top legion on Yustiel at that time) and I contibuted to grind and work and gain the "Stupid miragents cloth" set. As I'm sure some XoO members will recall... I am the same person who failed that HHOM 16 times and made over 5 large-scale petitions. Some of them reaching 100 pages + of comments and criticism towards the RNG topic. At the end of the day I took a break from Aion out of utter frustration, this break lasted ~ 2 weeks. I had left my position in Nexus humbly and respectfully as many other members had (To join another legion which was primarily korean)... and so I didn't feel too guilty about that. I had given golds such as bollvigs drops to other members, given them potions and crafted, etc... so I felt that I did contribute to the legion and after experiancing such heart-wrenching failure at the hands of RNG felt that my leaving was acceptable. I returned 2 weeks later and had my characters name altered and I had accumulated riddiculous amounts of AP in the time I had spent grinding. I had let a select few people know what my new IGN was (I had honestly been ashamed and the publicity and cosntant spam about "17th fail YET?" got on my nerves) and they supported me by feeding me gold-medals... as such I eventually got myself a full level 50 EAT Cloth set. (Tome is a regret I had buying, I hardly noticed a difference.) Now this sounds like an awesome story, but sadly its not. Asmodian populaiton had dwindled into the abyss (pun intended )... and now I had the "best" gear possible... making PvP extensively (1) hard to find and (2) boring. This caused me to eventually throw in the towel completely for Aion and I moved onto private servers from then until now. I currently play gamezaion as a spiritmaster and I'm doing pretty good. Hummm... thats all I can say there I suppose. -TERA: I've been in the FGT's and the korean betas and currently share an account with a friend on K-TERA retail version. (Admitedly I haven't played as much as I wish too. They honestly hog the account lol). Ummm I have the most experiance with the sorcerer, priest and mystic classes. My FAVOURITE has to be the mystic though.... but priest isn't too far behind. I know for sure I am going to roll a mystic if things stay as they are... but depending on how they nerf/buff the classes I may be swayed to roll a priest. Being 100% direct here as I am not a liar and just as I hope I wouldn't be lied too, I won't lie about what could happen. (1000000% sure it will be priest OR mystic. I like healing archetypes too much in TERA.) ***At the moment I know I've forgotten a few, and my memory honestly is fried. But this should be a fair enough list o_o ------ Other internet based activities: -I am active on Dragon Age 2 website. I love the looks of the game and am very excited for its release... I am confident it will be able to hold off my urges and wants for the game to be released in North America. -I am active on IGN.com, I commonly contribute information and datas to others. Although I admit I have not been active on this website lately. -Active on www.tera-online.com, www.terafans.com. -Various other websites not really worth mentioning or staggeringly obvious (gamezaion for example). -I've released a handful of guides over the years to various sites/things. Some small, some big. I know a thing or two about organization and presentation :S ----------- Moderation experiance: I have moderated 3 games thus far. 1. Conquer Revalations server (~ 3.5+ years ago) I acted as a head game master on this server and I delt with everything from editing script and coding and levels to dealing with the donation shop issues and handling player questions... whether it be server specific or game specific. 2. RF online (Name escapes me now :\) (~1.5 years ago now) I was a forum moderator who eventually also gained access to the game moderation itself and acted as a person who found botters out, sifted through copious amounts of data each day and handled any questions/events needed to be done. 3. Aion private server (Gamez) I have acted as a hidden moderator for this game for quite a few months now. I would constantly do updates behind the scenes to increase server stability, submit and ban players for hacking, cheating, scamming, etc. But complications of course arised due to certain... "inflammatory" people and community rejection of these individuals. Eventually leading to me to being forced to quit (And TERA had played a large role in my resignation of this as well.). This has honestly been the funnest gaming moderation experiance of it all, although I have resigned from that position as of late due to TERA becoming my primary focus. ----------- BETA testing experaince (Closed/FGT.) -TERA -Conquer private server that I was head gm on. -RF server I was a gm on. -perfect world -dekaron -aion (korea) Sadly aside from that I can't remember much more than that... X_X Why do you think you'll be a good fit? I am an individual who strives for unity and synergy with my teammates. I realise after countless years of being a MMO gamer that its not only the individual that promotes and fosters success but it is the community one joins and is a part of that makes the biggest impact. I am a very humble person with a strong sense of loyalty and trust, and I am a person that people constantly refer to as being independant, reliable, and someone others can lean on if needed. Altruism is one of the points I believe describes me the most effectively, I love to contribute and foster relationships with others and to see everyone grow not only as a single large community, but I also love to help friends who may have fallen behind or could have better gear, etc. I have often been referred to as being the "santa" of the previous guilds I have been a part of... and I suppose that is quite true of me actually! Last but not least I have to throw in this incredibly corny line, but its so true! "I am Eager to learn and expand my horizons" What will you contribute to the guild? #1: I am a student of medicine and a humanitarian... if people come asking me questions I will try my best to help answer them. I am a shoulder that others can lean on and I am not judgemental at all. Although I realise I am definately not someone people should ever go to as a doctor, I can help provide insight into issues and problems and common questions people may have. #2: As I sort of let out in my first point, I am a shoulder that people can cry on if needed... or a friend that people can turn to in times of need. I am very open-armed and eager to help anyone and everyone! Afterall no one likes feeling down. #3: I am experianced with leadership of guilds... I have led many guilds across various MMO's and I have acted as a Head Game Master in multiple game private servers and have contributed a premium amount of hours to those activities (Easily over 1,000 in all my time moderating). #4: I am a skilled user of "gimp". Sadly not photoshop But I can easily create signatures, avatars, banners, edit images to my will, create graphic designs and simple animations. I am however NOT a professional designer, I am 100% non-profit =P Doesn't mean I can't own those who are though #5: I am a person of research, I love learning new things and tinkering... often people have referred to me as "The Tactician" because I am cunning and love to plan ahead and alter things to juice the most effective route. Ummm in more understandable terms: ~I offer strategy and tactics. ~I offer knowledge and an open inquisitive mind. ~I offer the ability to compile and synthesize data (large and small amounts). <-- such as guide writing. Localization: NA Do you have a referral? - A little bit about yourself? I am a very active person both ingame and in real life. I am currently a student studying neurology in hopes to eventually become a neurosurgeon. I have a wide variety of activities I take part in from volunteer work at hospitals, SSDS, fundraising for various groups, swimming, working out and general athletics, to teaching muay thai and participating in MMA tournaments. In terms of personality I am a very bubbly and outgoing person and someone who takes initiative to start positive activity. I always support my friends and will defend them with my all, I support and exude loyalty, trust and faith in others. I am "old school" in a sense that I strongly believe in honor and prestige above mockery, theft and deciet. I know from experaince that everyone gets their turn and that through working together as a community and fostering growth that we can achieve more than a single member ninja-looting an item and becoming "almighty". Hmmm, I am also in a relationship with the love of my life for the past 4 years now. They generally share the same interests as me, but they are more focused on working out and athletics side of things and are aiming to become a professional athelete. I guess what this means is that I have a level of maturity and understanding that most people don't really quite have. I am very open minded, and definately not a stick in the mud... but I promise you I won't be talking about "screwing bitches" "smackin dat hoe at last nights party" and "woah man I am so frigging baked over and I mean last night I like was with SO MANY WOMEN I BET NONE OF YALLZ SEEN SO MANY". And I know the ins and outs of relationships... as I said before in my application I am a shoulder people can rely on. I've been through ups and downs and rejection and breakups and the whole lot of things. Sadly that is something that comes with experiance, lol! (Love them but sometimes they drive me crazy.) As for those quotes above ^^, That would Never escape my lips LOL. Although I can completely get a good laugh out of that as I said I am bubbly... but I am not crude myself hah. Umm and I am Canadian. And sadly a bit steriotypical in the sense that I am very polite and courteous to others. Always "please" and "thankyou". Aside from that not much more I can really say... sort of splattered myself into these grey boxes. Last but not least thank you for taking the time to read this, I really appretiate it! And I eagerly await the oppertunity to join this community. Thank you! Activity level? Over 40 I can expect in game. Some weeks may dip due to school commitment though, no point in lying. But even then the hours should be ~40. Do you have a high speed internet connection and a good computer? Yes Have you applied to the TERA usergroup? Yes
Sorry xD I didn't mean to WOT you into pain! Thank you though! I am relieved to hear all is going good thus far.
