Highly doubtful it will be released next month with how little info is available. Really there are just a few model renders. Normally when I see a game with just this type of info available it is at least 8+ months away
It is entirely possible they are just overhauling the engine and releasing an older, simpler, better looking, version of Planetside. At the price of a new game...
I suggested this a while back, when we first heard of PS Next. It's very possible, though pretty much everything needs to be redone because they're using a whole new engine (Unreal Engine 3). There's still a ton of work involved.
I never played Planetside but if DAOC came out with a graphics upgrade and reskinned models and cleaned up combat I would be all over that
With the limited information out, no actual participation to any gaming conference, no video and a handful of screenshots... I highly doubt it will be anything better if it does indeed release next month. Now if it gets pushed back and this "March" announcement was just to build hype... well it worked. Notice how he does not confirm anything. Who would actually play the PR card a month before launch, no one serious about the product that's for sure. Maybe if there was a super secret Closed Beta server somewhere where only elite members of the PS community had been invited... oh wait it would have been all over the internet days before they would actually open up beta servers. Guess time will tell.

Yeah I didn't want to whore it too much on youtube since it was another companies commercial in the background. I wish they would give out more information though... I'm dieing :tear: I didn't do the minecraft video... just a favorite. Pretty amazing the detail they put in to it.

I'm a Planetside vet from the early days and remember PhoenixDog's flights of terror . I came back to XoO because of the Planetside news. Will probably be in Guild Wars 2 also.

Whats up Q. It has been a while. I like seeing the familiar names here. You, Doctorie, EpyonNext, Miir, PhoenixDog. I miss playing PS with you guys. Never had as much fun in any other game. I can't remember who I was gunning for in a Magrider one night, but we did hit and run attacks with another MR crew for a couple hours racking up a crap ton of kills and never dying. It was a freaking blast. When we did get killed I got a message from the guy who killed us because he got max points. I still tell that story to people I meet who are into MMOs or FPSs. If you read this and remember that let me know. Hope to see you guys in the new one.
